An Achievement A Day 3

Exploring My Boredom

I've been very busy lately, and also not terribly interested in playing either. At least not my priest, but generally lack of interest in WoW in favor of doing other things. Yes, I know it's Spring, but I've never been the "OMG ITZ SPRING MUST GO OUTSIDE!!!" sort of person, and have never understood that. I guess I'm just a little burned out right now. I should probably start on some PvP achievements, and probably will soon, but ah well.

Most of these were minimal-effort achievements, like go fly somewhere AFK, and then walk to the last remaining section of the zone to explore it. Day #100 was on April 10, where I finally was able to get A Simple Re-Quest thanks to Easter vacation.

A Beginning to PvP

I am a PvP noob. I always have avoided it. So in looking at the huge amounts of PvP and realizing that I will need to participate in it to complete this mission was a little bit of a downer, but you know what...I don't care. I can run one battleground each day if that's what it takes. And evidently that's all it will take initially. After one day where my lag was too bad to even think of trying PvP, I caught an EotS weekend where we outnumbered Horde 10-4. Yeah...small surprise I got more than just "Eye of the Storm Victory" on that one.

Anyway, for a few weeks I continued working toward PvP stuff before getting distracted by a change in the calendar.

  • April 11: Explore Nagrand.
  • April 12: Eye of the Storm Victory, The Perfect Storm, Flurry.
  • April 13: Utgarde Keep.
  • April 14: Dual Talent Specialization. Helloooo, 3.1. I wasn't going to drop the 1k on this since I'm still a long way off from my epic flight. Then again, I'm still a long way off and I know I'll invest in this eventually anyway.
  • April 15: Mana-Tombs.
  • April 16: Take a Chill Pill. Day 2 in Eye of the Storm for me. This was the only achievement, as we lost the match badly, but I didn't need to go back for more.
  • April 17: Shadow Labyrinth.
  • April 18: Know Thy Enemy, That Takes Class, The Grim Reaper, Arathi Basin Victory. After a few bad BG's where absolutely nothing happened meaningfully, I got into a very tight AB match that the Alliance finally broke open as I settled into a healing role. The earlier BG's were terrible as I was trying to DPS and I flat out don't have the gear for it. Still, this will likely be the only time you see me get 4 achievements in one day unless one causes the other directly. (Explore Icecrown -> Explore Northrend -> World Explorer, i.e.)
  • April 19: Storm Trooper, Storm Glory. The daily was AB, but I got into an EotS first. Was going well, overall, and then I saw my big opportunity...to carry the flag.
  • April 20: 50 Dalaran Cooking Awards. Quicky on a day that I knew I had one coming to me.
  • April 21: 100 Honorable Kills. Still trying to do battlegrounds each day.
  • April 22: Explore Blade's Edge Mountains. A couple battlegrounds today, but no luck with achievements in them.
  • April 23: Damage Control. Ran my first AV today. Utterly amazed how quickly I got this achievement. I think all I did was attack the NPC guards of one of the towers.
  • April 24: Molten Core. Started another AV today, which Horde won, while finding out we were doing old school raids today.
  • April 25: Explore Searing Gorge. Was working on...something, I forget what, and it didn't materialize. This was my replacement.

Restandre the Noble

Noblegarden has begun, and with it my first real pursuit of a title. Unlike the other holiday events, this one doesn't require any level 80 action. Took a bit of time hunting eggs, and of course I got the rabbit in an egg right after I bought it. But I got everything done...while also working on Children's Week.

  • April 26: I Found One!
  • April 27: Chocolate Lover Moar eggs!
  • April 28: Dressed for the Occasion, Sunday's Finest. I was doing my hardest to not click the egg contents by reflex, but it gets so hard when you're opening so many. I ended up claiming a second achievement by accident.
  • April 29: Hard Boiled.
  • April 30: Noble Garden.
  • May 1: Home Alone. This was fairly unavoidable, so I didn't try for anything else.
  • May 2: Chocoholic. I'm finally off the clock with my Noble Garden achievements, and working toward getting the two pets done for this year.
  • May 3: Aw, Isn't it Cute? One down! Still holding onto my Draenei orphan whistle.
  • May 4: Bad Example.
  • May 5: Daily Chores. SSO dailies, go! Oh, and today is day #125.
  • May 6: 200 Daily Quests Completed. SSO dailies, go!
  • May 7: Desert Rose. SSO...nm. Finally finishing some expired holiday stuff.
  • May 8: Stable Keeper. Set this up the day before since I had guests coming from out of town. They beat me home from work, so I literally only had time to log on while changing my clothes. Good thing this was only a couple clicks away!
  • May 9: Spring Fling. So while I was in Kharanos, I got a guildmate to come join me...
  • May 10: Shake Your Bunny Maker. Another overdue holiday achievement.
  • May 11: Blushing Bride, Noble Gardener. I can now get rid of my Noble Garden stuff. This also marks the very first title that Restandre the Noble has earned.

An End to PvP

A few more days worth of PvP'ing. I had originally told myself I would do one battleground every day, but that's given way to doing other things every day since the BG achievements won't be coming on a daily basis and I don't have the time to commit this late in the school year.

  • May 12: Within Our Grasp, Wintergrasp Victory. I came, I zoned in, I conquered...all within about 10 seconds. I have good timing. /shrug
  • May 13: Warsong Gulch Victory. I finally hit level 78 today. I've been 77 for well over a month since I haven't been actively questing or anything. Just holiday stuff and battlegrounds.
  • May 14: Warsong Gulch Perfection. I thought the Horde was supposed to be good at WSG. The matches I've been in so far, the Alliance has pretty much dominated. (70-79 bracket.)
  • May 15: Alterac Valley Victory, Everything Counts. Regrettable to get an extra achievement with the AV victory, but I'm happy to finally win an AV. This is my 7th try or so.
  • May 16: Stormpike Perfection. I led Alliance on healing with an undergeared shadow nub. Go me?
