Adventurer Appreciation Campaign

Even the heads of state agree that the safety of our nations, the security of our cities, and the peaceful lives of our citizens are all made possible through the tireless efforts of Vana'diel's adventurers. And now those same adventurers have taken the battle against evil and chaos to the lands of the Near East. It will only be a matter of time before the nation of Aht Urhgan also comes to appreciate their invaluable contributions... It is time for adventurers to reap the rewards of their service! Once again, the nations of San d'Oria, Bastok, and Windurst will become the stage for the "Adventurer Appreciation Campaign." During the planned events, adventurers will receive gifts of gratitude from the townspeople and hear detailed reports of their conquests in battle (based on data secretly collected by the M.H.M.U.). Behind this display of appreciation, perhaps there is a desire to stem the tide of adventurers leaving for Near Eastern shores... In any case, the citizens of Vana'diel have the following message for their beloved heroes: "Adventurers great and small, you have our heartfelt gratitude! Your dedication and courage have made Vana'diel the wonderful place it is today!" Event Locations Southern San d'Oria Northern San d'Oria Bastok Mines Bastok Markets Windurst Waters Windurst Woods Event Schedule This event is scheduled to begin on May 11 at 17:00 and end on May 31 at 0:00 (PDT).

This event seems kinda sparse compared to the others. At least in the others you had to do something. In this, all you do it 'wait' and get a prize. I think "we," the adventurers, need to be given better prizes for having to endure some of the crap in this game. Especially those that have stuck with it for longer than others. Come on SE, you can do better than this. However, I don't think SE cares about their players anyway. Appreciation my ***.

3 days for a chocopass? >.<;
# May 26 2006 at 2:42 PM Rating: Good
Well, on four different characters, I refused for three days in a row, and then took the present on the fourth day. The result -- one Federation Stables Scarf and three Chocopasses. >.<;

So, it looks like waiting doesn't significantly improve your chances. I'm going to spend the rest of the event waiting one day and getting a present the next. :-P

So hey, I got a chocobo wand from this event the other day on my first try. I waited 3 days and came back for my item. Either I was very lucky or it took into account that I am level 8 chocobo digging ^^.

got the certificate
# May 19 2006 at 9:34 PM Rating: Decent
As others, I leave my inventory full and request present from mog. So, I am able to see what i suppose to get. First earth day, I suppose get free chocobo pass. So, I requested to wait longer. 2nd earth day, I did the same and see i will get chocobo pass again. I thought maybe I should get the chocobo pass this time...so I squeezed a spot in inventory and talked to mog again. Guess what, all the sudden I got the CERTIFICATE!!
*********
CONCLUSION, LEAVING UR INVENTORY FULL CAN NOT PREVIEW WHAT YOU WILL GET. EVERYTIME IS RANDOM!!!

I'm not really sure how the waiting works, because for some reason, despite the fact that I told the moogle I would wait, when I went back, he asked me again, did I want to think about it, get it now, or wait. I'm confus-ed.

Well, I got an adv. certificate after waiting 2 days, then silver moogle belt the day after.. dunno if waiting has any impact.

Has anyone got a Gold Moogle Belt yet? I've seen bronze and silver but not gold yet..
Confirmed presents so far
# May 17 2006 at 10:10 AM Rating: Good
So far, I've gotten:
- Bronze Moogle Belt
- Adventurer Certificate
- Return Ring
- Chocobo Ticket
- Chocopass
- Little Comet (fireworks)

A few points of interest:
- The Bronze Moogle Belt was on a mule, with no waiting.
- I've gotten the Adventurer Certificate on two different characters -- once by waiting and once right away.
- My first present on my main (with no waiting) was a Chocobo Ticket.

I'm planning to experiment some more with my mules to see what other prizes are available. I hope there's nothing that requires waiting an excessive length of time -- I'd hate to wait until the end and only get a Chocobo Ticket. >.<;

Can anyone confirm the Chocobo Wand? I really want one of these, and will be thrilled if they've included it in this year's event!

rainbow cape?
# May 16 2006 at 7:08 AM Rating: Decent
Another friend of mine said he got the rainbow cape, but I don't know if I am going to believe him or not. He waited twice, left for 2 days, and won a Rainbow Cape when he came back. Alot of these have sold on the AH lately, i'm not sure if it's because they are given from the moogles or if they are making them. I'll soon find out. IT HAS +9 MP. And IF... the moogles are giving these out, and they aren't rare/ex, you should farm them on Fenrir server. It's a nice deal.

His credibility is slightly off, buy only because he tries to hustle me for all my gil every day with cheap items.

If I ever discover this is true, I'll come back and let you all know.

call me a skeptic but i'm gonna say your friend is full of crap, most events you only get special items, not regular armor that anybody can make. as for why they've been selling lately, i've seen quite a few people synthing them on my server in jueno pretty regularly.

Getting multiple belts?
# May 15 2006 at 8:46 PM Rating: Decent
So, has anyone gotten a different belt from this event after receiving one in the first place? I got the Bronze Belt on the first day, but I've been getting Chocobo Passes on each following day. I want the gold belt, but has anyone gotten two belts from this event yet?

The thing I like about this event as opposed to last year's is that you don't have to do it with other people. I hate events like that where you have to find a partner because what usually ends up happening is the first 2-3 days, everyone is in a mad rush to complete the event. If you happened to miss that mad rush, good luck trying to find someone to help you out with it.

Gold Moogle belt
# May 14 2006 at 5:30 PM Rating: Decent
An LS member has the gold moogle belt. i'm not sure if anyone mentioned that. it's bronze is 1% hp, silver is 2%hp, gold is 3%hp. I'm not sure how he got it, i'm assuming he chose to wait. who knows, i didn't ask. I dont' plan on it either. I just thought i'd inform that it DOES exist on the Fenrir server if anyone hasn't already mentioned it, i did not see it.

I wouldn't care unless it's MP, so i'm sorry.

I'm pretty sure there'll be a very nice present for those that refused the present and waited until the last day to accept it.

If you refuse to acquire the present on day #1 (or any day) and you go back and talk to the Moogle again on another day... does his speech change? Does it say, "Oh, you have come back! Would you like your present now?" Or does it say the exact same thing every single day no matter what?

I dont know... that is why I am asking.

I would figure that if he says the exact same thing every single day then he doesnt keep a record of you not accepting the prize before 12am JPN time.

Technically... no matter what... your stats are going to be the same on the last day that you can get a prize from him if you dont accept the prize until then versus getting a prize every day til the last day when your stats should be the same (in the cosmic way of things anyway) and you should be able to get the same exact prize the last day as you would have IF you had waited...

IF this whole thing is 100% based on your stats.

(maybe I am reading too much into it) ::smile::

Well, I don't know. But his speech doesn't change. He just asks if you want to wait longer. I'm just hoping that if I hold out till the very end I'm gonna get something nifty! ^^
Random? Maybe...
# May 13 2006 at 6:41 PM Rating: Decent
I think the prizes are semi-random...

You might as well accept a gift for every real life day, because saving up for tomorrow (real life day) isnt helping you.

The Moogle asks you if you want a present now or do you want to wait.. because waiting might net you a better prize... Now my theory is no matter what... you'll get a random prize (maybe the better prizes ARE not random, but I am going by my finds so far)

I have 5 mules and my main...
On the first day 2 of my mules got Chocobo tickets, 1 mule got a ChocoPass, 2 other mules got firecrackers... and my main got an Adventurer Plaque-thing.
On the second day... main got a ChocoPass, 1 mule got a firecracker, 2 mules got a Chocobo Ticket, 1 mule got the Bronze Belt, and the last mule got a Silver belt...

Semi-random, IMO.... mainly because 4 of my mules have never even been in a party, fought anything, or got killed... and yet 2 of them got belts... (the 5th mule that I have fought a little with actually got 2 firecrackers).

The only reason I see why the Moogle would have the option to wait is so you can go out and increase the stats for THAT DAY, but once it hits JPN midnight you are on a new day and [I think] you'll get whatever prize you'll get on that day anyway, so I guess if you were to talk to the Moogle at 11:50pm JPN time and accepted the prize and then not do a single thing til 12:01am JPN time and talked to the Moogle again and accepted again you would get two different prizes from the luck-of-the-draw pool. (not counting rare/ex stuff of course).

It all comes down to this... the more real-life days you accept the prize for that day and NOT wait til the next real-life day... the more chances you'll have getting a belt or whatever you want.

(the above is my opinion, and I do not want anyone to take any of it as being fact... only SE knows what is up)
more than one gift
# May 13 2006 at 5:10 PM Rating: Good
Can you get more than one gift from the moogle in this year's campiagn. I've been waiting since the event started, and i dont want to give up the "suspense" if i can only get one gift? thx for the info
All Moogle Belts?
# May 12 2006 at 6:08 PM Rating: Decent
I already have the certificate, and on the first day of this campaign I got the Bronze belt. I am saving up my reward now, so is it possible for me to get the other belts, or am I stuck with the Bronze one?

Also, a tip: if you talk to the moogle with your inventory full and ask to get the present, you will be able to see what you would have gotten but not receive it. Then you can decide whether to clean your inventory and accept it, or wait another day. This may be helpful.
