XBox 360 Beta World Emigration Period Coming Soon

You can now select your destination World for the World emigration that will take place following the conclusion of the Xbox 360 Beta Test on Monday, April 3, 2006. Please talk to the NPC "World Shifter" between March 24, 2006 5:00 (PST) and April 3, 2006 1:00 (PDT) to complete the World emigration procedure. [Regarding World Shifter] You may select your destination from a list of 32 Worlds (excluding Hydra World). You may also be able to emigrate to a random World by choosing the "I've changed my mind" option. Please note that the emigration procedure is carried out per individual character, not by PlayOnline account. If you wish to transfer all characters to the same World, you will have to carry out the emigration procedure for all characters. [Regarding Name Change] If an emigrating character's name is already being used in the World a player has selected, the player will be required to re-name the character after the start of service on April 20, 2006.

According to the news posted this emigration is only for the xbox players to be transfered into existing worlds. If it was for other most likely world shifters would also be present on other servers. To my knowledge there are none. As for playing your account on a different system... as this was not a problem with the ps2 and pc version, i cannot see how anything would change with the release of the xbox version as it is indeed the same game and will be utilising the same servers and interfaces. No need to worry though, world shifting will likely later become available to all players as the number of players on each server decreases and SE sees the need to compact them. ^^

If you have an Xbox 360, and you get the 360 game on the 19th, you can log in with your PC or PS/2 Playonline ID and password and play your character on a 360. Just to be clear, there is no FFXI for Xbox, only 360.

360 beta players that want to play their beta characters must wait for their data to be migrated from Hydra to their chosen server on the 20th. 360 players that want to start new characters can play on the 19th, but won't be able to select a world without a worldpass and may ***** up their character data transfer if they chose a specific world at the World Shifter.

I am a 360 beta player who also bought the PC version so I can play on both platforms once my character is transferred. Thanks to the XBCD drivers and the 360 patch, playing FFXI on a PC after playing on the 360 is seamless and doesn't require Vulcan keyboarding.

I think a lot of us are coming in well aware of the economy differences. I know I spent all my gil and bought items that I knew were highly desirable based on talking to players on my intended real server. I quested the three main teleport scrolls, but held them for sale after the transfer.

I can't speak for our experience level compared to veterans who have leveled multiple jobs. I think we had a lot of crap players because the beta was free. Qufim was a true demonstration of the Peter Principle. I'd like to hope that mostly talented characters are moving forward to the subscription servers. I do know that we didn't have a lot of experienced players to help us, we learned a lot on our own, and didn't have level 75s around to make anything mindlessly easy. My Magicite mission for rank 5 took an alliance of 10 people and 14 hours.

After playing on a server so jammed that S-E had to stop taking registrations, my biggest fear is going to be forming parties anywhere, any time, with any job mix I want. I think that luxury is gone forever. There were only 2,000 players on Ragnarok the other night. Eeek.

Ok, i'll clear it up for anyone who is unaware. On april 3rd at 12am central time the xbox beta server will no longer be available. On april 20th the retail version will become available for purchase and on this date will will be able to continue playing. All who have selected a server will be placed in the server they selected and all those who did not will be placed in a random server. During april 3-19 we will not be able to play. I guess this time is for the transferring process. Personally, I have selected fenrir as my new home for my up and coming lvl 48 pld/war. Hopefully, i will have an enjoyable experience there.

Well this will be interesting to see. Will we have more inexperienced players to put up with? Or will we actually have MORE of what we want? Experienced players. Still either way we are getting a little of both I guess. But you know the ones going to Fairy are gonna have a hard time, 1.5k-2k for Earth crystals at AH, and the main source of my income beeswax is going crazy with the price drop too. It seems no one can find a standard to keep prices at.
Here we go!

Here they come, ready or not. Whether we want them or not they are coming o-o

But, meh, won't be too bad. At least they already know what's going on. The only problems will be for them because of the major change in prices of things. I mean, there I think 1k might actually get you somewhere. Here 1k is nothing unless you multiply it by 100...(exept for crystals, for some reason earth crystals on Fairy are still hovering between 1.5k and 2k).

Ok, so are the xbox players unable to play for 17 days during the emigration process, or do they share a name with someone else on the same server?

Neither... I think they are going to stay on thier beta server until the 20th. The world selection period merely ends on the 3rd. So SE is going to take 17 days to actually set up the move.
Or, maybe, Xbox players can't play for 17 days because SE will be denying them service... hmmm. I don't really know.
But, they won't be starting over, I guess that's the main thing. They're able to bring thier characters to the regular servers that they made on the beta server.

I hope that they open this up for the other two platform to migrate over. i would like to bring my character from bahamut to kujata, so i dont have to work on my whm on kujata anymore, just so i can teleport myself. Teleports are 2-4k nowadays, that is if anyone is doing it. i remeber when that was free or only 500gils!!

All Platforms. It says this is happening after the Xbox BETA test, so all XBOX players will not be online.

Actually, what its referring to is that after April 3 all the people on the beta will be emmigrated to the oterh servers. If it was for all worlds there would be world shifters out right now but there isnt.
