The Starlight Celebration!

Master, Master! The Starlight Celebration is here again, kupo! You...you have no idea what I'm talking about? Well...the Starlight Celebration is... Well, it's happy and glad and busy and grand. It's noisy and crazy and fun and then... I...I'm so excited I can't think straight, kupo... In any case, you're going to love it! It's a great festival, kupo! Up until now, those red-wearing smilebringers have stolen the show with all their joyful present-giving and laughter, kupo! But festivals are moogle territory! This year, the M.H.M.U. will bring you a Starlight Celebration to remember, kupo! If those smilebringers are going to win all the children's hearts, then the moogles will focus on the adventurer population. We have presents galore for you all, kupo! Except...we've sort of run into a snag, kupo. As you probably know, adventurers never stay still for very long. They're always off killing some dragon, or saving the world or something, and you can never pin them down, kupo. Even using the incredible crystal ball network of the M.H.M.U., we're finding it impossible to track every adventurer's movements! Then we thought, "Who better to find an adventurer than another adventurer?" We'll employ your services to deliver all the greeting cards we have prepared, which can then be exchanged for a wonderful gift, kupo! Hm? You're telling me those smilebringers manage to deliver their presents all over Vana'diel in a single night? You must be pulling my bobble, kupo! You couldn't accomplish that feat with all the airships in Jeuno! Well, we're not doing this to prove who's better! This is for the adventurers, so let's all pitch in and make it a great festival, kupo! [Event Details] *The schedule for the Starlight Celebration will be announced at a later time. Please check back later! [Moogle Locations] Southern San d'Oria Northern San d'Oria Bastok Mines Bastok Markets Windurst Waters Windurst Woods

Ok i have only 1 thing to say about this qst...IT FREAKING SUX!!

Iv spent the last two days handing the moogle in Sandy cards and passing out the cards he returns. And when i dont have cards i get one from him and give it away. Today iv handed in 32 cards counting. And i gave away the cards he gave back. So iv given more then 32. -.-

So thats why i hate this qst. >.>;

Smilebringer Event 2005
# Dec 16 2005 at 11:24 PM Rating: Decent
Well,i'm glad SE keeps these Events going at these Special times of the year...it gets our minds off the battle scene for a few days! This year's newest reward is the Dream Robe and possibly the Dream Robe+1 [can anyone confirm on that!?];the quest is relatively easy!Talk to a moogle...initiate the quest and receive a Card. The Card you receive is Random and could correspond to anyone with differing lvls and jobs!Next you Spam shout to give your card away as you attentively look for others' shouts to get one that matches any one of your job/lvl description!hopefully u get the cards;after that you trade the cards you receive from others to the moogle![i think you can only hold one at a time]after a few handouts you receive the Dream Robe!YAY....but in the meanwhile you will be receiving Fireworks till you get the Dream Robe!Is there a Dream RObe+1??..i'm not sure i haven't tried it yet.but i do know that in the One Area of the 3 cities are the Moogle Stands where you can buy The Dream Hat for 10k,the XMAS Trees from every nation @ 10k each also and some fireworks! And if you wear your Dream Hat... you get kiddie Presents given by the moogles to hand out!but u do need to wear it to hand out the presents!GL and Have fun!I hope this info was helpful for you!!!
(^ ^)==============(^ ^)===============(^ ^)
<OH and i forgot to mention that Shout Spamming is at a all time high with this event[worse than Jeuno]but that's my 2 gils...lol

Dream Robe+1 does exist. I still can't get anyone to tell me how to get it though. Anybody willing to post how they got it and help us all out?
RE: Smilebringer Event 2005
# Dec 18 2005 at 6:44 PM Rating: Decent
you can get the Dream Robe+1 by trading cards with fellow PCs that are wearing robes also!it takes a few tries b4 u get the robe+1!i Hope this helps...(^ ^)===============================================
I also found an easy way to teleport to other cities from where one is currently at...just wear your Dream Hat(+1)[whichever]and trade kiddie presents given by the smilebringers NPCs
that are donning the robe and hat]to any NPC children in the cities!A msg will appear that you have brought barrelfuls of joy the the children of Vanadiel...talk to the Smilebringer again and he/she will give you the option of teleporting to another city to deliver more presents!Hope you enjoy the free teles!^^

Events started, learning the hard way...
# Dec 16 2005 at 7:58 PM Rating: Decent
Well, im sure some of you did the events and got rewarded. I seem to want to figure it out for myself also. So, if im correct, the card addressed to a mnk in the 60s range goes to any mnk form lvl60-69. It cant be delivered to their delivery box, it must be in person.
Next, the kiddies present is the one Im hard knocking. I tried to give any child(NPC) the gift but it showed no results. I;m puzzled. It must be a specific NPC child but who?? One doesnt know till one starts looking. It should be that hard, heck, most of the player adventurers already have dream hats and suits already, so soon i might get mine. Chow, see ya on the flip side.

# Dec 16 2005 at 11:05 PM Rating: Excellent
try wearing the dream hat when you are handing out the gift to kids you buy it from the mogs

Lol...just like last year...if one wears the Hat you are a Smilebringer therefore you are able to give presents!Thx for reminder...rate up!^^
Choco/Moogle
# Dec 15 2005 at 12:54 PM Rating: Decent
having a Chocobo Stable or Nomad Moogle in Selbina and Mhaura would be pretty cool. Either of which, is better than the "nothing" we have now, lol.

Another interesting idea. How about making chocobo's accessible through outposts once you reach a certain level? Eh, just a thought.
RE: Choco/Moogle
# Dec 18 2005 at 6:50 PM Rating: Decent
That would be a nice additon to those towns....But SE wouldn't do it just for the simple fact that you would waste less time going from place to place to either switching jobs or getting a chocobo ride.Eh,who knows they may have a change of heart if enough ppl ask for these things to appear....i mean;Norg,Khazam and Rabao all have both facilities;why not bring it to Selbina and Mhaura!?keep your fingers crossed.....

I'd be more in favor of Nomad Moogles over a chocobo. Think they'd get more use.

Glad to hear that you Joined the FFXI entourage!
but i do warn you that from now on you will be addicted to this game and you May...on occasions blow a few shifts from work...lol...or skip school, along with other events in your life...rofl..trust me we al do it time to time!^^
The Event is ez to do and if u have a hard time doing it ask someone that has the Dream Robe and such to guide you in...plus after the event is over;you can always wear the costumes to go out to the Fields and act like a pissed off Santa Beating up on some gobs for raiding you magical goodie bags off your Reins and feeding Dryad roots to the flying chocobos instead of Ghysal Greens!^^lol[you ought to be laughing by now]
or maybe i'm losin it!anyways good luck in the Game!^^

They aren't based on fame, so everyone can participate. Level...not really. Some of the HQ stuff would require travelling to other nations, which would either require higher levels or lots of potions.

Yeah, this christmas should be pretty fun. Few of my friends and I are going to Beaucidine Glacier or w/e its called to hang out and rape a few things. Far as events i think the clothes will probably be purchasable just like in Summerfest and there will probably be a +1 which will look EXACTLY the same just like all the other armor enix has in its small department of equipment just to add a small effect to the quest that they will be making us do... and remember, we pay them to make us do it, lol.

Well i definatly know i want my Christmas Dream Hat which i missed last year... pooey. :P

Looks like we're gonna be delivering greeting cards to other players.

And I'm sure more info will be given when it comes to the time of the event... hell, they don't even have a date yet. Give them time.

That's what it sounds like... we get a card and have to give it to another player. Let's hope they potential deliverees to peole on our friendlist or something. But perhaps some random JP's mule would just love to return from AFK to recieve his card... or a GS, i'm sure they get into the christmas spirit. I'm sure SE will give us some options, if not I don't think a lot of cards will get delivered.
RE: ...?

Eh its either other PCs or they will have us delivering em to random "adventurer" npcs >.> lol. but I think the pc one is better ;) go deliver this greeting card to ( insert random gs name here ). =p

I want snow this year.

Or more Twinkling Treants for me to beat up. They gotta pick one.
RE: /pout
# Dec 07 2005 at 1:08 PM Rating: Decent
It did snow the very first year of the game. Each city had a walking tree decorated for Christmas set up near one of the auction houses. As you approached the tree, it began to snow in the area. It never accumulated, but it did look very pretty. I always wished that they would bring it back, but that's life...

Last year I know it snowed at the tree fountain in windurst woods. Don't know about the other cities

I dont totally remember but I don't think it was snowing in sandy at all lol. But there should be snow ... and gifts ... and ... lots of stuff to keep people entertained ... not the normal stuff that tends to get done in only a few hours >.>

The festivals never take place in Jueno, just the 3 starting cities. But last year you were able to hear christmas-y music in Jeuno. Every year it's a little different so I can only guess what this year will be like. I can't wait!!!
RE:

Speaking of that christmas-y music... you can download last years theme from i-tunes. Irritate your friends, annoy your neigbors, further isolate yourself from the real world! Only 99 cents for all the listening pleasure of irritating synthesized FFXI music!
