At the following time we will perform a version update of FINAL FANTASY XI. *The client software will be updated at this time. The client update will begin once you connect to FINAL FANTASY XI. [Date & Time] Oct. 20, 2005 2:00 (PDT) [Affected Services] FINAL FANTASY XI [Important Update Details] - An issue where players were forced to equip the "Safety Mantle" on the "waist" instead of the "back" has been fixed. - An issue where reward details were not being displayed after a Fellowship Quest was completed was fixed. - An issue where targeting a pet or fellow would result in an erroneous name being displayed was fixed.

I don't really care about this maintenance too much, it just is every time they do it is my only time to play. I just got off work and get home to play for a couple of hours before my wife gets home and bam! no ffxi. hmmmm, SE do you have it out for me?!! i dont know i just get a little pissed when maintenance always is on my day off or my peak play time hours.

Anybody have any idea when this will end??

I did a traceroute (that internet talk for checking the connection between the server and my computer), and I am getting a destination not reachable from a couple different network connections.

OMG, well at least I won't miss Dynamis Saturday, /sigh SE Does have a Test server they beta test all updates on that server weeks before updates. The maintenance yesterday was hardware maintenance on the motherboards of the POL Servers likely they installed some faulty boards and are now having to replace them.

SE does have an annoying habit of scheduling updates during prime US and European hours, but this is due to the time zone there 8:00 AM PST is 11:00 PM JST Since the game is based and produced there Japanese players get the benefit of maintenance times.

However this also gives American players the advantage by putting HNM's in prime US play times after most maintenance, thus increasing our access to the Kings (King Behemoth, Aspidontoise, and Nidhogg). What they gain in play time they lose in experience and content access.

Yes 5 day maintenance does suck I'd rather be xping my Thf job, and synthing pies for the Halloween Event than sitting around doing nothing.

i feel your pain.... i am getting kind of sick of login difficulties every other day.... i know I whine because unlike some other lucky ppl, i do not get all that much time to play. when i finally DO get all work and homework done, this crap happens. this is supposed to be my fun leisure time, not the swear at the computer for 6 hours, not knowing when the problems gonna be fixed time.

1. Go to the movies with your friends tonight (Friday). POPCORN!!! MOVIE!!! HOT GUYS!!! ALL RIGHT!!!

2. Go to a amusment park especially the Fright Houses because it's almost Halloween. (OMG I went to one of those with my cousins and I fell on my butt 5 times screaming the whole way) But I think I'm gonna go to Screamworld tomorrow since I have nothing to do and Carnage on Sunday :)

3. Play other online or non-online games. I still love these :)

4. Go shopping! NEW CLOTHES WOOT!!!!

5. Call up your friends and talk about guys.

6. Watch DVDs from Blockbuster.

7. Read a book.

8. Go clubbing at night.

9. Paint your nails and do you hair.

...and many more!!!!!!! (Sorry, I'm just really bored. I think I might just do those things I just listed right now.) Don't hesistate to add to the list!!! (I'm a girl... so... this might not apply to most of you out there...)

no offense sweetie, but this is MY reality.

List of other junk I could be doin:
paying bills with the money i dont have
studying for midterms or agonizing over the grades of the ones i jus took
watch my cat die of leukemia cuz the vet charges too much and knows way too little
scrounge around for food cuz my boyfriend has the damn car so i cant go grocery shopping
fight w my family via phone
watchin crappy *** WWE on USA (ugh)

the fun-happy-yay approach simply doesnt apply to everyone.. >.>
