Azimuth Circle

Master, master! How are you holding up in this horrible heat? You've made the Sunbreeze Festival a smashing success, kupo! And now it's time for the main event--"Azimuth Circle"! Azimuth Circle has rather complex rules, so I'll have to drill you beforehand, kupo. First off, the game can only be played in pairs--everyone must be in a party of two. So you must begin by searching for a partner. Coupling with a good friend would be ideal, of course. But even if you aren't exactly the most popular master...no problem! Just ask around, kupo! And then, um, ummm...oh yeah! After that, just talk to a moogle with your partner and say you want to start the game, kupo! Then the moogle will tell you where your partner should go. It will also tell your partner where you should go! So you and your partner have to relay information between each other to figure out where to head next, kupo. Each of you should reach your checkpoint with good teamwork! Examine your checkpoint to find a hidden compass. The compass will point in the direction that your partner should go, so both of you should use this information to help each other out. Work together to find all of your checkpoints and each of you will find a doll at the end of the trail, kupo! Last but not least, trade your doll with your partner and then trade the doll that he found to the moogle, kupo. End game--the moogle will give you beautiful swimwear to beat the heat as a reward for your efforts! Nothing like going for a dip in the ocean in this scorching weather, kupo! Ah... I almost forgot! I have a message here from Azimuth of the Alchemists' Guild! Here's what the inventor of Azimuth Circle had to say, kupo: "The name 'Azimuth Circle' comes from this gadget we set on a compass in the old days so we could verify directions proper. I'm not vain enough to name a game after myself! Anyway, I hope you and your partner become good friends while playing. Maybe you can even invite them to join you again later wearing the rewards you gained from playing. I wonder what games you could play with them then...haw haw.........!" Ahem...yes, Ms. Azimuth is certainly a unique old... Anyway! Where was I, kupo? Oh yeah, Azimuth Circle. Please join us in the festivities, kupo! Master, master, get up and get out there! It's time to find a partner for Azimuth Circle! -Event Details This event is scheduled to commence at July 28, 2005 17:00 and will last until August 15, 2005 0:00 (PDT). -Event Locations Southern San d'Oria/Port San d'Oria Bastok Mines/Port Bastok Windurst Waters/Windurst Walls

Fun with the that stupid moogle

Yeah, so, this events causing undue frustration...
I always drop what I'm doin to do an event, I love gettin the hq and prancing around, but this one seems so freakin BUGGY.

Now, I started the event like normal, I got the NQ on my mules, no problem, in windy and sandy for mule 1 and mule 2. Now, I went to my main, and did the event in Windy, now for some reason, instead of trading the doll to the moogle who gave me the quest, I figured I'd do the one in walls. I think this is where the bug pops up, I got my body suit, but, when I did the quest in walls, and traded to waters, I got a freakin choco ticket. Well, I figured it was just random, and did the event in waters to be sure, traded, and... another ticket. OK, so, I do it again, log out, come back the next day, trade... ANOTHER TICKET. So, a lil miffed, I warp off and hit sandy, and do it in port, got my pants, and head out to get HQ. I hit Bastok since its the only one I haven't been to. I do the event in port. I trade, I get ANOTHER FREAKIN TICKET. I've done it over and over again and so far I've only gotten 1 HQ, the pants in Bastok Mines. WHAT is going ON here? -.-;

EDIT: I finaly ignored the "You gotta go to a different Nation" BS, and went back to where I first started, and traded a the pumimi doll to the EXACT same moogle who have me my swim suit body, and got the HQ. Yes, I got the HQ from the same moogle who gave me the NQ, this event is SO freakin buggy -.-;

hola from fenrir.
ok in south sandy when the event began it was a MADHOUSE and i got really angry at people just yelling random crap about the event. people need to learn to shut up when they have no clue what theyre talking about.

ok here is a step by step guide to how to get your swimsuit:
step one: get a partner and form a two person party. regardless of what anyone may say, race and gender make absolutely NO difference.

step two:go to one of the starting areas (since im from sandy, ill just say southern sandoria) and find and talk to the moogle to start your quest.

step three: the moogle will give both party members a cardinal direction to head. one person must stand by the moogle and keep on talking to moogle to get directions. send these diredctions to your party member.

step four: the other party member must go in that direction (without zoning!) looking for "Check Points" do not click on or check the checkpoints until youre sure its the one the moogle is sending you to, toherwise youll have to start over

step five: once the checkpoint is obtained, youll receive a doll. there are only two types.

step six: now that player who arrived at the checkpoint must talk to the checkpoint like the other member who was talking to the moogle. these directions are for the other player to receive their doll.

step seven: once both members have dolls, they must trade the dolls to each other, swap them out.

step eight: trade the doll to the moogle. the moogle will give you either a top or bottom.

step nine: head to the other area of the country your in (port sandoria). you can keep the same party member if u want. it doesnt matter. wait one full game day and start it all over. do it just like you did for the first piece, trade the dolls, then trade to moogle. congratulations youve got a swimsuit.

i havent gotten the +1 yet but i heard it improves clamming or reduces clamming incidents, etc. from what i hear and have read, after doing the quest in your home, go to another country and do it again, you should get the +1 version. this is a cool quest once you understand it, and ignore morons who just yell random stuff about doing it with every gender of every race on a lightningsday with a waning moon. thats all BS.
i found some areas in southern sandoira id never been to before, which was neat.
good luck!
Moogle Hates Me

Baxter and I started this quest in Windy Walls. I stood at the moogle and pointed him North, which sent him all the way across the map. He got a doll, and started checking that check point for me. I went NE, got a doll from the first check point. We traded our dolls. He got his overly-tight jams shorts, and I got my swimsuit top. Wow this is easy.

Thinking from things we had read that we had to switch zones, we went to Waters. We found the Moogle, and even though a day had not changed in game, he gave us the quest again. Off we ran. It was harder to find the checkpoints here and required much more direction giving. Eventually we got the dolls, traded them to one another, then to the moogle. He yelled at us that we could only get one item a day. No biggie, we waited, and turned them in as the clocked passed midnight.

We got chocobo tickets.

Now, chocobo tickets are all very well and good, as those thieves by the crags - well, if I could get the money they rake in for just one day I would fill my inventory with Monster Signas.

So we waited another hour, turned in two more dolls, and got

two more chocobo tickets.

At this point, I am wondering what stir-fried Moogle tastes like. What did we do wrong? Why can't we get the second piece?

The information here so far shows that people have completed the quest, but what is the secret to preventing the Moogle from blessing you with chocobo ticket after chocobo ticket?

UPDATE: One real life day later, after logging out, we tried again in Windy Waters and the Moogle still insists on insulting us with Chocobo Tickets. Having started in Walls, it seems odd that switching to Waters to complete would cause so much pain, but we'll see in an hour if going back to Walls makes the sadistic Moogle happy.

After 1 piece in Walls, and 4 tickets in Waters, I got my other half of the outfit in Walls.

+1
# Jul 28 2005 at 11:42 PM Rating: Decent
ok, in order to get the +1 items your have to first get both in a nation, in order to get both pieces you need to do it in the two areas of the nation(lets say you got the bottom in South Sandy, you need to get the top in Port Sandy)

in order to get the +1 items you have to go to another nation, i started in sandy and went to bastok for my +1 stuff.

Hope this helps :3
+1
# Jul 28 2005 at 11:41 PM Rating: Decent
To get the +1 all you gotta do is get the NQ parts in 1 nation then go to a different nation and repeat the quest.
Both pieces and +1?
# Jul 28 2005 at 9:23 PM Rating: Decent
Anyone know how to get both pieces yet? Or how to get the +1 yet?

Update - so far to get body and legs do quest in two diffrent zones. ex: South Sandy and Port Sandy.

Well it's somewhat easy to get the first piece but the second one is proving difficult. I'm going to try it with a different partner. I'll try to post if it works. As well you may have to wait one in-game day between each attempt.
