I'm sure most of you have already seen this, but just in case, from 1pm to 9pm EST there is going to be a huge patch: At the following time, we will be performing FINAL FANTASY XI server maintenance on all worlds. During this period, FINAL FANTASY XI will be unavailable. There will be an auction house server maintenance accompanied with a FINAL FANTASY XI server maintenance. For this reason, the expected maintenance time will be longer than usual. We apologize for any inconvenience. *The client software will also be updated at this time. Once this maintenance is completed, the client update will start automatically after logging back into FINAL FANTASY XI. Please follow the instructions that appear on your screen. Thank you for your patience. [Affected Period] From Jun. 28, 2004 10:00 to Jun. 28, 2004 18:00 (PDT) *The projected update completion time may be subject to change. I just got a great idea that I wanted to share with everyone. Sleep now, and set your alarm 4 hours early for tomorrow, that way these hours won't be wasted on staring at the "Can't play during maintenance" message scrolling across the screen. Night night.

I cant believe they are taking to 11 EST, that is the dumbest thing, anyways... you can update your version now, and not have to wait for 20 or 30 min when everyone else starts, and i would strongly recommend it

From what I understand, you can still buy fireworks from the AH, it's just that they're raising the max stack size of fireworks from 12 to 99... If this is true, you can have a crazy time using fireworks. :P

And as for the "stupid check system"; I'm assuming whoever posted that was speaking of how when you check an enemy... At higher levels, an Easy Prey isn't always as easy as it sounds... Strange though, at lower levels people thrived off of Easy Preys and could usually kill a Tough or Even Prey (if skills were high enough; level 5 Paladin doesn't have much trouble killing a T or Even)... At higher levels you get as far away from (aggressive) Easy Preys as you can lest you have them jump you. Perhaps they'll fix the checks to more accurately match your abilities... But I have heard no mention of such a "fix"...

I am a level 49 BLM, and a level 40 WHM.

I have no problem killing easy prey mobs. It just takes some skill.

In fact, when I go to level up my shield, I usually go fight DC or even match mobs. They are a bit more difficult, but I don't seem to die from them so long as I pick the right mobs.

If you are having problems fighting easy prey or DC mobs, then you should probably take a look at your subskills, and equipment. Yes, it can be costly to be wearing the best possible gear you can get, and it certainly takes alot of patience to raise some subskills, but if you are dying from easy prey mobs, then you should go do something about it.

They added some mannequins... You can make them wear extra armor. I'd be interested in learning how to get one. The update list says its quested, any ideas?

thank god i have no life... oh wait ... damn it i dont have a life .. that means im goin crazy sooo much faster ... i hate this crap... why did they choose to update all of the servers at the same time... someone correct me if im wrong but , didnt the message say something about not being able to purchase firework types from the AH ... cause if it did that is complete crap.. how am i supposed to celebrate the 4th of July if i cant purchace fireworks... til after the 4th... this is wrong
