My favorite area has been Neriak city of hate. I think the graphics in that zone are great. the colors are wonderful and the layout interesting. I believe it might have also been the first zone to use the transporter disks to get around.Ive been in there a lot but still find characters I havent talked too and new places to visit. The player housing I feel is better than the other starting cities in looks, and if you break out you have a great courtyard to decorate.
All Norrath is a land of beauty
# Dec 20 2013 at 7:26 PM Rating: Decent
The land of my birth, crisp, clean Frostfang will forever be the home of my heart. Though I have traveled - and learned to love - the Isles of Mara, for their calming and contemplative shores, Antonica, where I can run free in the golden light of Queen Antonia Bayle's mercy and Everfrost, a land reminiscent of home with the crunch of snow and cry of wolves, the frigid shores of the Frostfang sea and the warm hearths in my ice blue house in New Halas call to my heart. Evermore to Frostfang shall I return.

The beauty of Frostfang still stuns me. I'm so glad to have created my first character there because the wildness of the land calls to my Viking ancestry. Thanks to Zam and the EQ2 teams for guidance through the wilderness!

Tower of Frozen Shadow
# Dec 20 2013 at 7:25 PM Rating: Decent
In both games this whole place is just amazing: I'm talking about Tower of Frozen Shadow. In EQ1 & 2 both we had two roleplay guilds that were enemies and used the lore of the Tower in many of our stories. Not only is it eerie and fantastic inside, but the surrounding area always had an ominous feeling as well. I used to love finding the rare black panther named Midnight that would sometimes appear nearby, and spent countless hours on the various floors of the Tower working our way up gradually.

Calling all Sellers!
# Dec 20 2013 at 7:24 PM Rating: Decent
My favorite place in EQ1 was the tunnel off the Commonlands. That was the place for buying and selling bags, gear and other goodies. A huge gathering of players, socializing, dueling and just being the great community that was Erollissi Marr. I remember trying to follow the chat spam, keeping up with who was selling what and who was on the receiving end of the current drama..way better than soap operas on TV!
Crushbone

My favorite area was Crushbone in EQ1. When I first started playing EQ waaaaaaaaaay back when, it took me a while to get in the swing of things and learn how not to die...lol. Which means that the orcs at the bottom of the orc lift in Kelethin were responsible for a lot of me dieing... so naturally, once I leveled up enough not to die when a orc snorted in my direction, I went looking for revenge!! I slaughtered every orc I could find and while doing so, noticed a crack in the mountainside that the orcs seemed to be guarding... so I went through it, turned one corner, then another, then ... LOADING..... WTH!! did I just die?!?!? (remember, first time playing...didnt even know about zones....lol).. when Crushbone finally loaded up, I was ecstatic...a whole zone of orcs for me to slaughter in revenge !!!! YAY!... from that point on, I happily took every new toon there to level up and learn the differences in how each class plays.

One of my favorite areas is city of Neriak in Everquest II, ntm the Nektulos Forest area is awesome as well. I love the dark scary feel to these areas. My absolute favorite being the Darklight Palace.. would be awesome to make it my home!
Night in the Oasis
# Dec 20 2013 at 6:54 PM Rating: Decent
My favorite and memorable zone would have to be Oasis. I still remember the day I was leveling up my Iksar monk, I had just entered into the Oasis and went on my way leveling after awhile chat started going crazy just as I ran over a dune I saw a Giant. God I loved GM events in EQ. Another reason Oasis is probably my favorite is just for the fact that at the time of the game it was the most unique zone I had encountered.
Everfrost
# Dec 20 2013 at 6:53 PM Rating: Decent
My favorite zones was one of the first I ever entered, Everfrost. As a young Barbarian, going after the wolves, bear cubs, and spiderlings, all the while keeping an eye out for those music-hating skeletons (composers and lyricists), was always a balanced challenge. And later, going out into the zone to help out those people who were fighting the Ice Giants and picking up too much copper (when it still had weight), so you had to be their bank courrier. And then trying to find your corpse in that vast wilderness, when you ran into an orc shaman or an ice-clad skeleton, or an enraged mammoth. :)

Speaking of finding your corpse, I remember an old song out there, "Has anybody seen my corpse?". Does anyone know if it is out there, and where it might be found?

Here you go!

And here's a link to Jethal Silverwing's cover of the same song.

There are a lot of places that are really awesome in both EQ and EQ2, I always loved Plane of Fear and Hate in EQ. Loved the dynamic of corpse hunting and weight in the first EQ. In EQ2 I really enjoy Enchanted Lands, the zone is very pretty and peaceful and a great little place to hang out and chat with friends. I do like to travel to visit Quo and dunk him a few times in his little pond after all the running around. Whether it be EQ or EQ2 I have enjoyed the entire franchise thus far and hope to for many years to come.
Queen's Colony
# Dec 20 2013 at 6:45 PM Rating: Good
My favorite place in Norath is Queen's Colony that is now lost to us. I remember being there as a mega-noob, testing out new toons. It seemed to take so long to get to the point of leveling high enough to jump ship and sail to Nettleville. It seemed to take so long to level but at the time the end game was what? Level 30? I liken it to my first home that i thought was so huge then you go back and realize how small it was.
Memories of the greatest time of my life
# Dec 20 2013 at 6:42 PM Rating: Good
Its hard to pick just one I have played EQ for 8 years and EQ2 for another 5 years so to pick only one place is like remembering a lifetime of my favorite times in life. I am going to go with the day my mind was blown forever in EQ camping down in the Qeynos sewer system with my friends waiting for one of their rare spawn for some epic quest someone was working on.

I remember it very fondly because we had been there for hours and it had become a mission to get the spawn as well as to keep each other driven to stick around and stay awake waiting for the spawn. The time was late or very early depending on how you look at things. The sun was starting to come up and it was starting to look like we wouldn't get the spawn. About the same time I started joking about how Qeynos was pronounced was it Key nose or Qeen os.. The debate went on and on for what seemed like hours till someone said "You all know that QEYNOS is just actually SONY EQ backwards." To which we all fell silent and couldn't believe none of us had never noticed in all our years of playing. As we where all laughing and dumbfounded by this new discovery. The rare mob spawned and our friend got his item and we all joked the EQ GMs held off on spawning the rare till someone pointed out that qeynos was sony eq backwards.
Thundering Steppes in the Early Days of EQ2
# Dec 20 2013 at 6:40 PM Rating: Good
I remember the race along the water edge to get to the dock and ring the bell. Running deep into enemy territory to try to get to The Commonlands with lowbie characters to PvP. The first time doing it and the thrill and excitement.
Favorite place in EQ
# Dec 20 2013 at 6:34 PM Rating: Good
My Favorite place is Kelethin mostly because of an event they had back in the earlier years of eq. The event they had was a drunken relay across Kelethin. They had you make fresh lvl 1 toon that started in Kelethin made everyone drunk and it was on. The race started at the orc lift and went all the way across i cant remember where it ended. I do remember my drunken run was short lived i think i fell off the second bridge but it was really fun and then i sat watching others drop like lemmings. That experience has always stuck with me throughout playing this game

My favorite locations in EverQuest are in the “Plane of Time”. I think the theme music is the best in EQ and it was through my experiences in Guild Play and Raids that I learned the best EQ play behavior. Teamwork, cooperation, understanding resposbilities and game strategy were well understood by most players. I've recently commpleted a decade of continuous EQ play and it has proven to be quite an intellectually stimulating adventure. "Ubiyen"

I'd have to say my favorite place in EQ1 was Butcherblock. The first time you make that run to the docks, or find the chessboard. Not much has come close to the thrill of exploration since. Now in EQ2, I enjoy Antonica and the Commonlands, just to compare how they got changed from EQ1 to EQ2. Seeing familiar places in a different light just brings out how Norrath is eternal.

The location I remember the most is Sinking Sands. I'd just started EQ2 on the recommendation of a friend and the DIRTY live event was running. I remember flying over the zone on a carpet and looking down at all the huge red conned spiders and seeing the beginnings of the air ship. Sinking Sands isn't my favorite zone, but that is one of my first 'oh wow' memories of EQ2.

I remember raiding the original Veeshan's Peak one night. We were on the verge of wiping to Phara Dar. A full raid was suddenly down to 3 with Phara at 5%. A warrior, a rogue and me a Paladin. With a combination of LoH and Paladin heals, we finished Phara sweating bullets all the way. Talk about exciting stuff! After getting back some mana, I rezzed a cleric to start recovery and fat loots abound on Phara. The three of us were talked about for months for that win hahahah.

Out of the hundreds of wonderful zones in Everquest, Clan Crushbone is by far my favorite because it encompasses everything I love and used to love about the game.
When I think of my childhood, I think of Everquest. I started playing it when I was 9 years old, and Crushbone was probably the first place I really grouped with other players (That or Orc Hill outside CB).
It hasn't really changed in the 12 years since I started playing and it is an absolute nostalgia trip every time I visit. I love to take my new characters there, even though the enemies are extremely easy now and the exp isn't that great. You still have to be careful, because /shout TRAIN TO ZONELINE! CHOOCHOOOO!

My Favorite place in all of EQ1 is Nedaria's landing. On January 26, 2006 myself and my (now RL husband) got married in game at the waterfall, not realizing it would be leading up to July 10, 2010, the date of our real wedding. I'll never forget the zone, and how for once it didn't not rain in it that whole day.

We've come a long way since then but we still enjoy playing the game that brought us together.

I would have to say City of Mist would have to be my favorite Zone from Everquest Classic. Not so much because of its layout, or how great it was to grind mobs at those lower levels. No, I like that zone the most, because of the memory that was created there.
Long ago, as a newbie Enchanter, grinding alone in that zone, I was invited to a group with a Zerker, and several other lowbies, and we grinded away! Gaining level after level! Then one bad-pull happened, while the wrong person was AFk. Everyone paniced! We're all gunna die!
And then I saved the day! Mezzed the whole lot of them, and kept 15 mobs perma-mezzed with a combination of PBAOE mez, and long duration single target mez! Soon after, we killed them all and after that, my street - cred was established!
I love Seb.
# Dec 20 2013 at 6:19 PM Rating: Good
My favorite spot in Norrath is Seb, and I mean the entire zone. It was THE zone when I first started playing EQ1 and the xp was always awesome when level appropriate. Once past that content it remains a great cash farm zone and I have always liked the complexity of the zone. I always have liked the variety of content within the zone. It has a very cool design which earned names of camps spots like "Disco" and Disco2". Just a really fun and well designed zone. Always been one of my favorites.

Just a great zone top to bottom, large enough to house several groups who wouldn't step on one anothers toes, and some really unique items to farm.

I also always loved the watterfall outside Thurgadin. I remember being in awe the 1st time I saw it. Very graphically cool.

My favourite place on Eq1 in the plane of knowledge because that is where i met me wife for the first time
Hands Down: Antonica
# Dec 20 2013 at 6:11 PM Rating: Good
My favorite place in Everquest 2 would definitely have to be, hands down, Antonica. As a roleplayer, I took part in an RP war that happened in Antonica a few years back where the forces of Freeport and its allies stormed Antonica against Qeynos and their allies. It was a multi-guild event, my first big RP experience. I met a ton of people through it, got my feet wet with RP dueling, and it solidified my love for roleplay. Most importantly, I met my best friend during that battle, and we've been best friends and roleplay partners for years because of that event, which is why Antonica will always have a special place in my cold, Teir'Dal heart.
