Quite a few folks were wondering why their Hall of Monuments Portal Stone wasn't nestled safely in their bags at log in.

There have been some teething issues for Guild Wars 2 at launch, so ArenaNet made the portal stone available form a vendor.

The video below guides you to that vendor - with my personal thanks to Yoshi for showing me when I got in-game - and looks at how you change your bog-standard gear into shiny legacy loot.
