The Scrying Pool: The Reaper

The Scrying Pool is a Guild Wars 2 column where I simply ask what if? Nothing is off the table as I dive into possible features and future content, looking at what currently exists in Guild Wars 2 before I answer my own what if question with how I think the feature and content could be implemented.

Normally that intro holds true, but while we are in the midst of the speculation reveals I will be flipping the tables. Instead of looking forward, the Scrying Pool will be looking back as we continue the Specialization series from a different viewpoint. Instead of speculation, I will focus on my impressions of each of the Elite Specializations after they get revealed while throwing in some of my previous articles and speculation for flavor.

Guild Wars 2: The Reaper

ArenaNet continues its weekly reveals of the Elite Specializations coming with Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns by unvealing the Reaper specialization for Necromancer. While the Necromancer is a hands-off damage dealer, the Reaper will help bring the class into the midst of the battle to deal devastating damage with its Greatsword and set of Shout skills.

Yesterday, ArenaNet revealed the Dragonhunter, the Elite Specialization for the Guardian. As I mentioned in last week’s article however, the Scrying Pool will remain a week behind to give time for the dust to settle and the spec to soak in. It is also a week behind because the Scrying Pool is written before the weekly livestream that shows off more of the what that Elite Specialization is bringing to the profession. As such, this week we will talk about the Chronomancer, the Elite Specialization for Mesmer which was revealed last week.

Guild Wars 2: Dragonhunter Elite Specialization

Guild Wars 2 continues its Elite Specialization reveals for Heart of Thorns, and this time around the Guardian profession is up. The Dragonhunter was conceptualized as a light-wielding bringer of justice who favors a longbow.

Normally that intro holds true, but for the next few weeks I will be flipping the tables. Guild Wars 2: Chronomancer Revealed

ArenaNet has today started revealing the Elite Specializations coming in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. The first of these reveals is for the Mesmer and its Elite Specialization Chronomancer.

Guild Wars 2: Earn Beta In-Game!

ArenaNet today announced how players will be able to get access to the next Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns PvE closed beta event and it is pretty nifty. Starting on Tuesday, April 28th, monsters in the two maps added during the Living World Season 2 (Dry Top and the Silverwastes) will have a chance to drop a rare portal item. Upon looting these portals, the player's account will be flagged to gain access to the next PvE closed beta.

In this week’s article, I will be talking about Sylvari and where they stand in the story leading up to the Heart of Thorns expansion. If you have not yet played through the Living World Season 2 content, be warned that we will be entering into some very big spoiler territory.

Guild Wars 2: Specialization Reveal

Ever since Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns was announced, players have been wanting to know more about specializations. Specializations is the platform for which professions in GW2 will be expanded, and in a pair of blog posts today ArenaNet has given more information on what this system will actually entail.
