Discuss this in the ZAM Forums!

* The following revisions, planned for patch 1.19, are still in development, and therefore subject to change.

* Patch 1.19 will see further revisions to the guildleve system.

These revisions are intended to create a more flexible play style for levequests as well as streamline the overall system. To accomplish this goal, the ability to accrue and store guildleves will be introduced, certain aspects of regional and local leves will be standardized, and the guildleve system will receive an overall UI adjustment.

Guildleve Issuance Guildleve issuance will be revised as follows:

  • Players will receive an allowance of four leves every 12 hours (Earth time), up to maximum of 99.
  • The allowance will be shared amongst regional, local, and faction leves.
  • The Adventurers’ Guild will update its list of leves when you complete (or fail) a levequest, or when an additional allowance is issued.
  • The ability to exchange leves and the associated bonuses will be abolished. However, alternate bonuses will be introduced by way of a new evaluation system.

* Players who have reached the allowance cap may choose to return leves.

Levequest History and Evaluation

Upon completing a levequest and collecting the rewards, the leve will be moved from the player’s Journal to Levequest History, which displays the details of the eight most recently completed leves. Requesting an evaluation at the Adventurers’ Guild with at least one levequest in the history will earn you a new leve, the nature of which varies based on your levequest history. At this point in time your history will be cleared.

* Leves issued via the evaluation count towards the player’s allowance.

In patch 1.19, the combination of levequests in the history will determine the bonuses granted upon completing a levequest issued via evaluation. However, the evaluation system will be expanded in the future.

Retrying Levequests

Players will be given the option to retry a failed levequest at the cost of a leve allowance.

Regional and Faction Levequests: The retry option will be available in the Journal entry, at the Adventurers’ Guild, and the aetheryte menu.

Local Levequests: The retry option will be available in the Journal entry, at the Adventurers’ Guild, and in the option menu displayed upon failure.

Abandoning Levequests

The option to abandon levequests will be added to the Journal entry. Players may choose to abandon leves regardless of success and failure.

Why, for the love of all that is holy, would they drop your total leves to 4... even with the new 12 hour timer, that's redonkulous. It depends on how you look at it and how you play your game.

If you are the type of person that spends all eight of your regional/faction leves and then you spend all eight of your local leves every 36 hours, then the new system will feel like a step backwards.

This is because you are getting to use sixteen leves every 36 hour period (8 regional/faction and 8 local), whereas the new system will only allow you twelve leves in the same 36 hours.

If you would rather focus on a single goal, however, this update will be beneficial.

Let's say I really want to get my PUG to 36 so that I can learn Second Wind II. Under the current system, I would have to use my allotment of eight leves every 36 hours.. and that's all I get. Under the new system I would be able to spend twelve leves on my PUG in the same 36 hours.

Once I get Second Wind II let's say I decide to go on a crafting binge, but I really need to get guild marks to get an ability or a training regimen. Under the current system, I once again have only eight leves to draw from.. plus I could only earn the marks I need if I select leves from the city the guild is in. If that city isn't offering me any guild marks on the current leve cycle, then I'm just out of luck. Under the new system I have twelve leves to use, plus if I don't show any guild mark rewards I can simply use one of my leve allotment to take a leve, complete it, and come back to a new selection of leves that might offer me marks.

I could, theoretically, use all twelve leves in the same city and earn marks for every single one of them, depending on how the odds work for me.

The biggest plus for me out of the revisions is that the allotment will accrue over time. As it stands now if you don't log in for a few days then, well, you're kinda screwed.. you still have only the eight and eight to use. The new system will allow someone to miss a couple of days and come back and have leves to use that have been earned over those couple of days. That's a huge bonus in my book.

OR are they saying "You can know get 4 leves every 12 hours, and stack up to 99 of them at a time"

Because I only play 2 days a week, and if I had 99 waiting to go on playday that would be awesome.

Why would they do this? Give us unlimited leves! It is the only thing to do in the game right now.

Wait till a future update. They'll change it again if enough people complain. I've been playing since launch but quit because you get used to something and they change it. The battle system drives me crazy. I could barely stand that stupid "bomard" event with the way it is now. They're over correcting and need to just stick to a plan! The constant tweaking is unnecessary !
Disapointment

Why, for the love of all that is holy, would they drop your total leves to 4... even with the new 12 hour timer, that's redonkulous.
