MMO-Champion Previews Full Tier 9 Armor Set Models

As Anobix pointed out in our general forum, Boubouille of MMO-Champion has posted a preview of the full Tier 9 armor set models datamined from the PTR. You can check out both the Horde and Alliance sets on the site.

It seems the biggest complaint from most of our readers is that the gear looks too similar for each class. What do you think? Is the uniform look growing on you, or are you not looking forward to matching the rest of your guild?

I love how everyone is buying the excuse that the T9 is suppose to look similar. These are the same people who bought the excuse that Naxx was brought back so people could check it out since TBC came out to soon after Naxx (original) went 'online'. If they had wanted more to see Naxx they would have delayed TBC.

Get it straight, Blizzard is cutting corners to hasten production and reduce overall costs in development on a game they are shifting into idle-mode*, all MMO-Companies tend to do this when they come out with a new MMO.

*Read before you scream "wow isn't dieing", because I never said it was...

PS:

S7 will be T10's overall design; just recolored. Anyone want to take up that non-monetary bet?
Copy / Paste much?

I had high hopes when I clicked the link to see the preview. Sad to see it's just more copy/paste.

I always like my toons to be kinda unique. As much as I've liked trying to get tier gear there's always been that nagging feeling that when I'm wearing a tier set I'm starting to look the same as every other player of my class. Dranei shammies all start looking similar etc. Reputation tabards mean that in any given heroic you see a lot of the same tabards too rather than the previous variety in guild/achievement tabards. Not a big problem though. With so many players not everyone can look completely unique. This is just pathetic though. Not only am I going to look similar to other in my class, you're going to have raid groups where it will look like everyone wearing the same uniform. May as well give everyone identical tabards and be done with it.

*sigh*

There was once a time when you could look forward to a new dungeon or a new raid because it brought with it not just a new stat-on-a-stick or a new stat-on-an-armor-piece... but you at least could look special for the class you were playing. You could tell a priest or a mage at a hundred paces.

Now, it doesn't look good at all. Too many pieces of gear looks identical already... a minor palette change if there was anything. WotLK has been the reign of the lazy artist... unless it comes to PvP. Oh, PvP gets to have a unique set of gear for each class in its appearance this coming season... but PvE? We get to look forward to the next level of adventures to give us a uniform appearance between each armor type... with a slight palette change.

I know Ulduar had unique sets for each of the classes... and so did Naxx (albeit palette swaps from an earlier era... so they don't get a pass there)... but now the next tier is rather generic looking. Work hard, pray for your drops to occur, hope you beat out your friends... to look identical to every other clothie or mail wearer or plate wearer. Uniformity amidst a class is tolerable... after all, are not all players of a class striving to get the gear to become better... but I, as a priest, do not want to stand next to a warlock or a mage when in our tier outfits and look nearly identical if I have the color turned off.

But! You do get to have two flavors of your gear... Horde and Alliance. *ahem* WOOOOOOOOoooooo.... bleh. I guess when they activate the ability to change factions at a cost... you can finally find an appearance you might enjoy. If you chose your faction wrong... That is a perk, right? Right? Probably not.

Now, I know that I feel like I am just rambling here but this is a slap in the face in my opinion... it feels like the point where Blizz finally is getting around to saying that they are not going to put much work into PvE content or at least its gear... and that PvP is really the avenue left to pursue if you want to have a rather interesting outfit to wear, RP in, and to look unique... the former realm PvE used to be.

So, lets read the writing on the walls, go que up for another cookie cutter, sanitized, formulaic battle with your two other friends a few times a week at most... and go get something that actually looks unique rather than go and hope for a chance drop once a week off a boss or two that will be rolled on by a number of others so you can put on a cloned uniform.

Sorry again for being verbose and sounding sarcastic. It may sound silly but interesting outfits and gear are what kept me playing this game for 4+ years... this is just depressing and makes me not really want to go and put in the effort to raid this newest tier of gear... I would rather keep running Naxx or Ulduar for outfits and gear to wear... I at least look interesting and befitting being a class... not just an armor type with a dye job done to it.

Blargh...

TL;DR - Disgruntled priest/warlock whining over being in a generic uniform

Ditto.

Problem is, most of Blizzard's creative team seems to have gone years ago. I haven't seen (but for a few pieces) original armor/weapons since b4 the 1st expansion. A lot of that was from the 1st Naxx too.....but that is now gone....

The staff they have now just doesn't want to take the time to design anything new (in that department)....its the same with other things also.

There are so many things still broken in the game, yet they just rush ahead and throw more things up then wonder what happen when a server crashes.

I think Blizzard really needs to slow down with World of Warcraft and concentrate on quality and NOT quantity.

This is just one more thing.
Hooray my first front-page link (or maybe 2nd!)
