I'm liking the Horde mage outfit, albeit the only cloth part of it may be his underwear.

I like it a lot, but I've just never gotten that into the looks of tier gear since Vanilla. I don't know why.

why are mage priest and warlock wearing plate? seems pretty lame for priest

Why does Blizzard want everyone to look the same?

Horde pally is sexy. Smiley: grin

I like the Horde cloth sets too.

The Alliance stuff is all kind of blah though.

Eh - Only on the races that they look ginormous on - at least that's what I hope. I'm still kind of wondering why they are showing the Mage and Priest gear on Orc models when Orcs can't even play those classes.

I don't think I'll ever understand the obsession some people seem to have with having shoulder armor bigger than their heads.

The sets are 'okay' looking but I'm not seeing anything overly exciting to me as far as looks go. Hopefully it looks better on my Trolls.

Is it just me or do ALL of these look almost completely identical?

Every time I don't think the tier sets can get any worse...they do. Come on now, Blizzard. Start making some tier sets that make us go "WOW!" instead of all this really fancy garbage. Reminds me of Guild Wars and the 15k armor... higher level armor... even crappier design.

Hey look at that even MORE class homogenization!

First its abilities, then stats and now how the gear looks!

I understand the beak helm for druids, but why in gods name do rogues get it too?

Majority of the Horde gear > The Alliance's.

Specifically liked the Lock, but ahh well.

I'd have to agree with most people here - gear looks "bleh" nowadays.

I do understand it's difficult to come up with unique designs, considering the sheer number of pieces out there - but still...

I wear gear for the stats though, irrespective of visual appeal (or lack thereof) - though, I'd have to voice a humble, personal opinion that Paladin T1 from MC is the single best looking armor set in the game, and most other good looking sets also come from Vanilla... Blizz appear to have "lost" something with their armor design of late.

The rogue 'beak' is very reminiscent of Renaissance era spies. It actually fits the Rogue more than the Druid in my opinion.

Heck, give me some level 15 gear with extra shiny skins, a fancy helmet, and maybe some fancy shoulders and you have something 100 times better than this garbage.

Good thing I'm not going to wear that, like, ever.

Here's hoping the PvP sets look better.

I like ginormous shoulders :)

But my dwarven huntress would not use those shoulders. Ever. I can see the look on her face if you tried to give them to her. "You're joking, right?"

Good thing she's not in any danger of wearing those.

Horde plate is much more impressive than alliance, but I like the alliance rogue - and why exactly are there flashlights on the Horde rogue's shoulders? He's supposed to be sneaky, right?

Seriously, Tier gear is getting worse and worse. I'm convinced Blizz's good artists have moved onto other projects. There is uncommon (green) gear in WotLK that I prefer the look of over most Tier 8, and all of Tier 9 models.

I gotta say I like the horde graphics quite a bit more than the alliance. The alliance all look the same. Can you even tell the difference between the a-warrior and a-dK!? But really excited to see the Horde paladin gear, loots good to me!

Was about to mention that.

They seem to be really taking the whole "Alliance armor must look Knight'esque" thing way too far..

I like the Horde look, overall I think these sets look amazing. My only real beef is the cloth armor sets look like plate.
#22 Jul 17 2009 at 4:32 AM Rating: Good
Okay guys: news flash. The sets all look alike for their armor class in their faction. You aren't just seeing things, Blizzard did this on purpose (whether you like that or not is up to you (I don't like it really). But I can say I am a lot happier about the [H] Mage (and therefore cloth sets) look a hell of a lot better than the Mage T6/T7/T8. It really reminds me of Sunwell-esque gear, but I'm okay with that.

T5>T4>T6.5>T1>T6>T2>T8>T9>T3/T7

True facts.

Oh, dear god. The pants don't even match the rest of the outfit. Wrong color.

And enough with the pants and long dresses for Druids. I want short skirts like in the intro. And a black panther for Cat form while you're at it. And the more awesome running animation than the sissy girly run they currently have.

Horde paladin set is pretty decent. Not so sure about the helm, but then Rosen is too pretty to hide his face anyway.

The horde hunter set looks decent.
A lot better than the T8 set, and it's somewhat hunterish with the scales.
Unlike the plate, skulls and demons we've had for the last few years.
