Sweet irony, downloaded the trial for S&Gs. Apparently the most current download version STILL NEEDS A SEVEN HOUR UPDATE. By the way, Im on 5mb cable. GG SE, if youre going to offer a trial download, MAKE IT CURRENT FFS.

Ok, this is strange, found these links for the trial, and apparently there is an EU version too:

Not sure where the EU client is downloaded from yet, it would be interesting to see what happens if you use the emailed trial registration code on the retail version of the game.

Wouldn't it make sense to cross-link this? It's not listed on any of the other MMO sites in the network, only FFXI. Which seems silly...since we already play.

:P

why is SE so slow to do things like this. nearly every other game that has been out for alteast six months or maybe a year offers a free trial. meh it is ratehr pointless to limit it to NA.
Other regions come later, I bet

I trust they will introduce trials for other regions later, once they find a distributor to partner with. Keep in mind, the clients are different for NA, EU and JP. They must want to distribute the EU client via a local partner.

Still, this feels like massive news, a very welcomed change. Glad to see SE trying to bring new players.

I wonder if there are any limitations to the trial, would be easy to exploit some quests otherwise.

NA onry. <Yes, please>

I'm in UK, I clicked the link - it tells me NA ONLY! Someone somewhere botched it up XD .

Look forward to the UK trial if they set one up , I have a fair few friends that would like to try it but don't want to buy the game if they're not sure ^^
