PlayOnline Viewer Update (Apr. 19)Apr 19th, 2005 at 7:09 AM by Haggan

At the following time, we performed a PlayOnline Viewer version update. *The client update will start automatically after connecting to PlayOnline. Please follow the instructions that appear on your screen. [Date & Time] Apr. 19, 2005 from 0:00 (PDT) [Affected Services] PlayOnline Viewer [Important Update Details] - Friends on "My Friend List" are now shown as being online only when both parties are using the same handles they used for friend registration. *This is basically the same environment as the "Friends Only" privacy setting before March 2005. - A function has been added to the Handle List where unlinked Content IDs can be linked when launching the game from the PlayOnline Viewer. To elaborate, when there is only one handle registered, all Content IDs will automatically be linked to that handle. If there are multiple handles registered, the PlayOnline Viewer Handle List screen will be displayed. - Fixed an issue where chat functions became unavailable when the user moved to a version update screen during a group chat, then cancelled the version update. - Added a process that checks whether the installed software is a beta version or an official version upon launch of contents. - Fixed some other minor issues. [Notes] The PlayOnline version update will modify the "pol.exe" file. Certain security/antivirus software may issue a warning, but this is a normal part of the version update process. (Windows version only.)

hahaha.. I just CANCELED my W.O.W. account... I tried playing it for 3 days and hated the fact that u CAN'T use D-pad Controller =( ... Too much hastle without it... So Now I tried logging in to play FFXI and can't log in =( DANG! I guess i'm going back to SLEEP! -_-;

Before reading this post.. Take a deep breath and relax

I just read on playonline.com that the update is gonna make it easier to lvl after 51

I always thought it was wierd how every TNL was 20k, till 56 i think it is, i bet thier gonna not make that huge jump and even out the tnl's like it was before lvl 51 until lvl 56 @ 20k..

What do you guys think?
I just died and about to de-lvl to 55, I hope it will make me 1 xp to 57.. how great will that be!
But from what i read if you are 1xp to 56 or 57.. its not going to give you xp, just make your next tnl lower

Also im hoping the new armor's arnt lvl 70+ cause i want 1:P

Probably everyone is trying to log in at the same time... It might cause the server to chock up.... just wait a bit

Sometimes it's just the nature of the beast. Anytime you try to make something better you need to sacrifice, and in this situation it's a little time that we could be playing a great game. But the time we sacrifice will pay off with a better product. ;)

So, it appends sometimes that i get affected by down time in FFXI, so what, during that time i go and try some other random game, go outside take a walk, or just listen to the politicients(sp?)/humorists(sp?) to have a good laught.

FFXI is just a game.... but you can go do something else, yea it's frustrating but since you can still do something else... go rent a movie or something ;)

LOL, go figure. I log on for the first time in a week and I can't log on.

I think the Man upstairs is telling me to go out and enjoy the 80 degree weather.

But I WANT to hang out in the basement and play my game!

Do we have a time frame for it to be fixed? If it's long, I'll just call it a day and go shoot some hoops I think?

I would love to go outside but it is pooring rain here!!!! So a lil game time would be nice..Guess I will just read up on some game quests and bcnms til I can get back on.

unfortunately some of us DO have a life, which includes they have only a limited amount of time in a fixed frame for games like that, and they do pay for it. It's not really fun to see ur favourite waste of ur free 2hrs a day totally crash twice in 3days. And right now i feel like playing a pre-alpha rather then a more then 4year old game....

4hrs emergencs , less then 24hrs later the servers crash and another 3hrs emergence...doesnt seem like they get anything fixed but rather make it worse atm

i don't hate SE... this time.

You people need to grow up.

The servers haven't been down all that long yet, and they don't go down often.
Look at a game like World of Warcraft, which is rated better than FFXI. They charge more money per month and they have a lot more downtime.

FFXI has very little down time compared to other good MMORPGs.

And like I said, they probably did it to stop the DDoS attacks. If that wasn't the purpose, I'm sure they would have done this patch with the FFXI patch tomorrow.

lmao cony. Is this the only mmorpg you have played? if you have tried other mmorpgs you would dc. update much more than this game.
This game is actualy stable from other mmorpgs. try WoW once and you will run back here.

Of course i want you go cancel your acount and play WoW instead. I know you will come back im sorry to say.

Im iritating on people who are whining about updates of the game and dont think forward.
What is a update? its a patch to make a game more stable. so if you want a unstable game its your wish but i dont want a unstable game i want a stable one.
