Blizzard Authenticator Introduced

From the official WoW site:
To help players avoid unauthorized account access, we're introducing the Blizzard Authenticator, a keychain token that generates codes that must be entered when signing in to the linked World of Warcraft account. For full details, please check out the official announcement or visit the information page.
The Authenticator will be available from the Blizzard store for $6.50 and will be available at, and after, the WWI event, and is completely optional.

The people who need these are the same schlubs who can't pick and keep a password secret...so we are to believe that they will be able to manage a physical key any better ????

I used to work for a stock trader that used something similar for stock trading software... very easy to use and very secure. Great idea... unles you leave it at home when you want to play at work. LOL I plan on getting one for my account and my wifes. I wonder if blizzard will implament something like this on future games as a standard? Guess we will have to wait and see. Keep up the good work blizzard.

Ah yes. We used these "back in the day" on America Online to lock down accounts that had access that could do any real damage. They ran under the name of "SecurID" back then. They are great and easy to use.
Good idea

Hopefully they will include one in future retail boxes of WoW. I think everyone should get this. I probably will.
