What if you make it in a frying pan and not in a toaster oven? Or is that a fried cheese sandwich or something?

I always make my grilled cheese sandwiches in a frying pan, but then I've never called it a toasted grilled cheese sandwich.

Isn't calling it a toasted grilled cheese sandwich just being redundant?

The grilling is what actually "toasts" the bread, isn't it?

I microwave it before putting it in the toaster oven, because the outside of the bread toasts faster than the cheese melts. Of course, this is only if I'm too lazy to make it in the skillet.

And I mean, if I'm going to use the skillet, I may as well make two slices of Spit-in-the-Ocean, and then put some cheese in the middle of them.

Microwaving second can lead to soggy toast, and nobody wants that. Properly distribute the cheese so that upon microwaving, it does not exceed the boundaries of the bread. In the case that you are terrible at doing this, the bread may be laid upon a piece of foil before insertion into the toaster oven.

Note: Don't @#%^ing microwave it on the foil, you @#%^tard.

Microwaving for 15 seconds is enough to melt the cheese without significantly dampening the toast.

The butter is a key component!

I guess you could butter the bread then put it in a toaster. Doesn't quite come out the same as in a frying pan though.
