Called different things in different games, a Broker is a special type of NPC that lists items for sale by players, and allows other players to buy them, usually for a fee.

Shugo Trade Brokers can be found in the cities, at the fortress of every zone after the introduction zones, and some large camps. The Brokers charge a fee, up front, to list the item or items for 9 days. If it sells you can collect your money from the sale at any Broker, and if it has not sold in that time the unsold items will be returned to you via the mail. In either case your listing fee is non-refundable. Nyerk nyerk.

All Brokers charge a commission on sales on the Market. Generally, this commission is 20% for brokers of your own alignment, and 40% for "Black Market" brokers.

Broker NPCs are available as a Guild Hall Amenity.

The Auction House clerks can be found in most towns and cities, and even a few frontier camps. A fee is charged up front to host your auction for you. You may set a starting bid, buyout price and 1 day, 2 days or 3 days for the auction term. 3 days is the maximum. Earnings or your unsold items are returned to you via in-game mail.
