April 29, 2010: Talent Point Reset (Don't Panic!) |
---|
As promised, this morning's maintenance patch included the promised Talent Point Reset. When you get in and start resetting you primary class, Don't Panic! The TP earned is wedded to the Class it was earned on. You will see the rest of your TP when you switch classes! Also, exchange of Diamonds and COD via mail are now re-enabled. |
April 20, 2010: Auction House changes to fight the evil spammers! |
---|
Trading of Gold for Diamonds, and vice versa, has been temporarily disabled as this was the mechanism being used by the gold sellers to move their product. Ditto with sending gold in mail. Frogster promises the option will return as soon as they feel it is safe (like, when all the gold sellers are out of business). I have to say that I have always felt that you should not be able to trade gold for diamonds in the first place, as it muddies the separation between real-world cash (diamonds) and in-game currency (gold). Feel free to discuss your own views on this in our forum. |

Curse Network pulls the plug on RunesDB |
---|
If you go to the RunesDB url you get a splash informing you that Curse has stopped database support for Runes of Magic. You are further directed to see their RunesWiki for your needs. I took a look and must say it looks a tad anemic. Unfortunately for us, the players, they did not preserve the existing comments nor export them to the wiki, so all of that info is just gone. As a consequence we have removed the Other Resources link to RunesDB from our pages. Farewell, RunesDB. Sorry to see you gone. On the bright side we do still have the BuffedDB (which seems to have mysteriously crashed tonight). |
WTH? Minigames! Ancient Treasures |
---|
I was running around Sascilia Steppes last night on one of my newer alts and ran smack into a little camp and NPC I had never seen before. Of course I had to investigate! |
Runes of Magic Has It's First Birthday! |
---|
A Short year ago, March 19th, 2009, Runes of Magic went live. I was there, and although I have not stayed in Taborea the whole year, I am very happy for them. :) See this page on their site for all the events and festivities. |
RoM Adds New Server |
---|
I have not been in-game for a few months and logged in today to see the announcement of a new server! So, RoM continues to grow. Good, good! Everyone give a welcome to the new spanish-language server, Palenque! According to that vast ocean of information, The Internet, "Palenque" means "palisade" in Spanish. It is also the name of a Mayan ruin in Mexico and the name of a tribe indigenous to Nicaragua and Honduras. |
Wiki - Not just a job, it's an adventure! |
---|
Our very own Bludwyng is playing on Govinda and having a good time running around and collecting information. Quest Series pages are populated, at least with the names and sequences, for the lower-end zones of Howling Mountains, Silverspring, Sascilia Steppes and Dragonfang Ridge, with more to come. Most quests are still red-links but quests, mobs and objects are filling in fast. We could really use your help! |
Patch 2.1.7: War and Parties |
---|
The release of Patch 2.1.7 (currently on Test) introduces the first wave of a new PvP battlegrounds-style play arena to RoM called Siege Wars, and the Spring live event, The Masked Ball, a daily quest event in Varanas City. The rollout of Siege Wars will continue up to the final push with the next expansion, Chapter III: The Elder Kingdoms. |
