The Red Bull Battlegrounds 2 has begun over on the new Red Bull eSports website!
This weekend's eSports entertainment has arrived. Red Bull eSports (no longer Red Bull Gaming) is throwing another Battlegrounds event, this time at Full Sail University, Orlando. Featuring 8 of the top StarCraft II players in the world competing for $10,000, this event follows a unique format.
Players will be split into two groups of four and go up against each player in their group, picking up $100 for every game won. The top two scoring players from each group will then move on to Showdown Sunday where they will compete for $6,400.
The fun has already begun as Group Round Day 1 is already underway. Don't fret, there are three days of action during the weekend, broadcast between the hours of 1pm to 9pm.

Anyone familiar with StarCraft II will recognise the potentially explosive games in this lineup. There are quite a few unique stories to tell, which Red Bull done a good job of telling through a number of interviews on their new eSports website, be sure to read the player profiles in their line-up feature.
If you're an eSports nut like myself, you'll also be watching the variety of broadcasts by MLG too. The big one to look out for on majorleaguegaming.com this week is the MLG Summer Invite, another StarCraft II event featuring the best North America has to offer.
