I'm taking my time leveling as I work through the Wrath of the Lich King content. I am thoroughly enjoying the in-depth quest chains, which contain so much lore that sometimes I feel like I'm watching a movie or reading a novel instead of playing a game.

Yesterday I completed part of an absolutely amazing quest chain (in my humble opinion) in Dragonblight, and I'm not even to the epic conclusion of it yet. You may want to avoid these quest links if you don't want any spoilers, but without giving anything away, the chain starts with the quest Into Hostile Territory (at least for Alliance) and continues from there. Once I hit the quest Return to Angrathar, I enjoyed a feature brand new to WoW with WotLK: in-game cinematics. And oddly enough, Blizzard posted the cinematic on its official Web site yesterday, as well.

The cinematic, entitled "The Wrath Gate," can be viewed or downloaded here. Warning: it contains story spoilers! Don't watch it unless you've completed the quest or don't mind having the story ruined. Either way, it will be there for you to watch or re-watch at your leisure. So, how does everyone feel about the addition of in-game cinematics?

The video is also available from your WoW folder after installing WotLK. It's in the same folder as all three intro cinematics.

I agree. I actually find that people who rush to raids etc without questing or doing anything with the storyline are less effective in some ways since they have less idea of the reasons behind what's going on. Plus they're usually the ones who are on chat asking where everything is when their quest log plainly tells them. :p
Anyway on the topic - I loved the cinematic. In fact I loved the whole quest chain. Now I'm looking forward to doing it on my toon on the opposite faction. I always find it interesting seeing similar quests from different sides.

Some people like killing things, others like the stories. It's personal preference. I could personally give two ***** about WoW lore for the most part. If I'm questing for the sake of questing, I'd rather skip the texts.

But anyway. Yes. Found the cinematic in the folder weeks ago. Liked it for what it's worth.

Yep it not all about raiding, which i find very boring and am unlikely to ever do. You know there is a lot of fun blowing up lower level mobs and selling or giving the drops to your friends. farming 432 bit leather so a friend can make you a nice set of blue armour. Sitting in xr for houres watching a level 80 buibble boy and dk pawning the npc and wondering if they have lost the plot. There si such a wide variety of things to do in the game thats why so many play it. I mean have you seen the people who dont seem to ever level up and sit in trade waiting to jump on people who spell word wrong? Im sure its a pleasure for them too. I like the community and would never get stuck into the trap of loggin in to see if that phat epic drops in a raid tonight. but like you say its our choice. Lore is for some but not me.

It's sad that you really miss the point of the game. You could literally play Asteroids all day and get the exact same level of enjoyment. To each his own, even if his own is worthless. I did this quest from the Horde side, one of the greatest things I've accomplished in this game simply because the payoff (the cinematic) was spectacular.

I did the quest chain. Just because I choose not to understand the lore with the quest due to it usually only being.... go slap something, speak to a npc or collect items, does it really make the game pointles? My son got level 80 in first week and lives in heroic instances. Is that fun?
