I guess we're ignoring last week's conservative get-together in DC to discuss the viability of putting a last minute True Scotsman into the race against Trump.

Well, to be fair, the GOP is waiting to carpet bomb the LZ first, so I guess that technically would make the DNC more willing, for a certain sense of willing.

Scott Adams(the Dilbert Guy) did a thing on the dangers of a Trump presidency. I think the arguments made in the Sizing your Risk section might work equally well for Bernie or some of the failed GOP candidates we missed out on during the circus.

Especially in this election cycle, where it looks pretty clear that the DNC more or less declared Clinton to be the sole viable candidate from the get go, with Sanders never having been considered to really be in the running (boy were they surprised).

Surprised by what? Sanders was never a viable candidate and has never been "in the running" in any realistic way. I suppose it might be tedious to some to not have a neat bow placed on the nomination by March 15th but it's like waiting for a slow on the uptake guest to leave your party: It might take them a while to get the hint but you're never concerned that they're actually going to move into your bedroom and kick you out. Clinton's already doing her general election pivot and and the party can afford to let Sanders slow burn himself out (no pun intended) since the race hasn't been especially contentious and most people are mainly paying attention to the Red Camp Freakshow anyway.

Even then, he probably wont win. Let's imagine that HRC gets indicted. This does not actually eliminate her delegate count though. She's ineligible for the nomination

Is this true? I don't know. No one seemed to care that Gov. Perry was under indictment while running for president.

Funny how that works.

There's a rumor flying around that Ted Cruz has had affairs with 5 different women during the campaign, although folks are fairly skeptical since one of the named women is a Trump spokeswoman. And since it was originally reported in the National Enquirer.

Either way, from what I can tell, Cruz has pretty good taste.

That's why they're skeptical? Not because it's Ted Cruz?

Well, yes, okay, it being the National Enquirer should be the more notable point to be skeptical over. But still. It seems Ted Cruz couldn't convince a hooker to sleep with him with a briefcase full of hundreds.

Ted Cruz seems to have the charisma of mold but I'm not a chick so maybe chicks find mold hot.

Every story in the Enquirer about Obama for the past eight years has had Republicans reminding us how correct the Enquirer was about Edwards' affair. I wonder if opinions on the Inquirer's validity have changed any since then.

I don't follow the Enquirer, but a couple articles on this had a longer than expected list of Affair stories that National Enquirer had broken.

So I guess it's not all "My wife was abducted by aliens and replaced with Bigfoot" type things I've come to expect from popular culture portrayals of them?

The Trump spokesperson apparently used to work with Cruz on his senatorial campaign so it's not as crazy as it'd seem at first glance that she'd have slept with him (from a politics standpoint anyway)

That's not to suggest that the story has merit.

The Trump lady is saying it's bunk. There's a guy who's supposedly a Washington Times columnist who is saying 2/5 is true. That said, the account that said it is most likely a fake(it has no checkmark and tweets like a bot). So yeah, it's probably not true. Would be funny if it was, but I'm certainly not going to join the lulz train until I see confirmation somewhere I trust more than the Enquirer and what I think is a bot on Twitter.

True enough. I'm mostly thinking about the other thing. I was intrigued when I thought he might be legit, but then I investigated and had to drop him.

PlayAsia(an online importer) is having fun with it, though.

Headline about this National Enquirer thing:

Ted Cruz Denies Tabloid's Story Alleging He Had at Least 5 Extramarital Affairs.

But I think it reads a bit better like this:

Ted Cruz Denies Tabloid's Story, Alleging He Had at Least 5 Extramarital Affairs.

I bet Cruz floated the story. Now when it turns out that he only had two affairs, he can blame the mainstream media for lying about it.

That's cute considering P. Bush's attempt to set up a dictatorship in the US and getting away with it.

Lolwhat? There are a number of things one could criticize Bush for. Failing to detect and prevent 9/11. Deciding to go to war with Afghanistan and Iraq. No Child Left Behind. Medicare plan D. The Patriot Act. And each of those can come complete with various levels of conspiracy in terms of motivation, cost, results, etc. And I've heard all of them, over time. But "attempted to set up a dictatorship in the US" is a new one for me.

Care to elaborate? Cause I'm honestly scratching my head on this one.
