You'd be shocked (actually, you probably wouldn't, but other folks maybe would be) how often the initial story is "I didn't do anything! And it's not even that they're trying to conceal what they did. They honestly didn't see the correlation. Which is scary.
I see this mentality every day at my work. It's enough to make you cry.

Yeah. Ok.

Surprised no one mentioned this today.

Hoodless Death Eaters marching with torches and chanting "blood and soil" in what is believed to be the largest gathering of hoodless Death Eaters yet to be seen. Apparently they're mad because the South lost the civil war and it took until only recently to remove all their precious statues.

The license plate!"God keep me".

You? Yes. Your car? Not so much.

Is Trumps' love of fascist dick-bags philosophical or is it just a cynical vote grab?

He's a racist, and he has never taken a step to discourage white supremacists. Indeed, he defunded a group that existed to track white supremacists. So, if it waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck, my best guess is that it's a ******' duck.

Also, sure, he knows he can keep a core of 35% of registered Republicans if he encourages this crap. So he's got that going for him, which is.... nice?

No, he really didn't. He said there was too much hatred on all sides, and it gives him a sad. He did not specifically condemn the white supremacists at the heart of this mess, as he has repeatedly failed to do.

Put it this way: white supremacists are extremely encouraged by his response. So maybe he's not a ****, but he is certainly #1 with *****, and apparently content to be.

Yeah, no one was really impressed by that milquetoast response. Hell, the GOP wasn't even impressed by it, given the responses by people like Senators Rubio, Hatch, Grassley and Gardner. It was weak and pathetic and designed to not really upset the white nationalist base that loves Bannon & Trump. There's not "many sides, many sides..." when a right-wing terrorist kills people in a vehicular attack.

But there is more than one side when protestors and counter-protestors are both in the streets geared up, beating each other, and spraying each other with various crowd control chemicals.

Yes, it's so obvious that the other side that Trump was talking about was the dead person that got ran over by the car, and not the people showing up in helmets fighting with marchers and spraying them with what ever tear gas or pepper spray they were using.

You can't just comment on both sides being violent? He's bad for not picking out the evil side only? I don't think he did so just to not anger the white nationalist group. But did so to try to show the non-racist voters on the right that he wasn't giving the "left" a free pass on their participation in the violent protests.

I mean, what are the White Nationalists going to do if Trump pisses them off? Go vote for Warren in 2020? They are going to check that "R" on the ballot in the end, just like democrats are going to check that "D".

It's interesting in this age of "Health and Safety" that a workplace would allow any noise not created by the machinery to add to the background noise. Harder to hear the forklifts moving about and near you and all...

But then again, you can buy earmuff-style hearing protection with built in music now. Somewhat defeats any sort of warning buzzers, fire alarms, PA speaker announcements, etc.

Anyways, depending on your jurisdiction TirithRR, there's a good chance your health and safety rep has more power over things like this than the manager may think they have.

Not the problem. They're not going to vote, that's the problem. Keeping the base fired up and ready to go to the polls is a huge part of getting elected, even more so for getting re-elected. Elections are won and lost on voter apathy.

Everyone on the factory floor must wear hearing protection at all times. They aren't allowed to wear any speaker devices. No ear buds or headphones. Though I think certain noise cancelling headphones are allowed, a couple people have headphones designed for shooting ranges, that attenuate certain frequencies or noise levels. But that's only like... less than 5 people out of the 600-700 people working there.

I personally hate that operators use radios at their work stations. Specially when I have to work at a machine for repairs or upgrades. They play it so loud that I can barely hear myself think at times. And then if it's a particularly frustrating machine or issue, it just adds to my frustration. I have unplugged people's equipment and thrown extension cords against a wall before. One time some operators had rolling chairs stacked by one of my electrical panels, and when I tried to worked at the machine they were in my way, so I picked them up and tossed them 10 or 15 feet out into the aisle (made sure no one was in the way first). About 30 minutes later another Plant Manger (not this one in question earlier) came up to me and started asking me what was going on, that he had been told that I was throwing things around...

But the right wing talking point isn't that the media is too hard on the KKK. It's that they are too easy on violence from the left. Trump didn't tweet what he did to appease those KKK marchers and David Duke (he seemed not too happy about the tweet). But to show those right wing voters watching that he wasn't just going to give those violent counter protestors a pass, not be part of that whole "liberal media biased".

It's not balanced to do so, no. One 'side' brought to bear lethal, premeditated violence, the other did not. On this occasion, the two aren't equivalent, and only someone with an enormous bias would treat them as though they were.

You can reasonably acknowledge violence on both sides, but you can't treat the two as being equally violent.

Well, to be fair. One person brought to bear lethal, premeditated violence.

Both sides came to a protest armed and ready to fight. Protestors and counter protestors both armed and beating on each other during the event.

When I hit you and you shoot me, you're violent thug. When you hit me and I shoot you, we're both violent violent thugs. I choose to frame the fairness in the way that is most beneficial to me, with responsibility singular when it benefits me and responsibility equitable when it also benefits me.

Responsibility is proportional. Threatening violence is bad. Murder is worse. False equivalency is dishonesty.
