Wonder who thought it was a good idea to let the senate write it's own version of everything. Seems to only increase the amount of time it takes to get anything done.

Is there anything that makes sense anymore? We are descending into a world of madness. Tomorrow we'll be reading articles about how they're all wearing boots as hats and walking around the president in a circle like peacocks.

That's how you can tell they're winning.

Or at least that's what I was told it means.

To be fair, if you wear boots for a hat, it's way easier to do a handstand. Assistance with mental gymnastics is helpful for being part of the Trump team. They already do that circle thing.

Speaking of congress, GOP reps got shot in Alexandria.Mo Brooks gave a surpringly coherent account given that he was in the middle of the shooutout.

Congressmen value their lives so there may be a renewed push for gun reform.

I generally loathe inefficiency more than the moderate Republican agenda. With maybe an exception for the NIH budget cutbacks, wherever those stand these days.

The Alt-Righters are sad because their video game safe space suddenly, uh, includes shooting Nazis?

First was Far Cry 5 which will take place in Montana and has you fighting against a militia-cult. How dare they! (That link likely won't work due to a bad word in the URL -- edit: sure didn't; added a hyphen in the offending word)

The follow-up is Wolfenstein II which has good ole BJ Blazkowicz (Spoiler: guess he survived, huh?) fighting now on American soil to defeat the Nazis who took over the world. This has people mad which is pretty weird because the best thing the Nazis ever did was give us video game opponents decades later that no one could complain about killing.

Lest one think these examples were cherry-picked, you can visit the Steam forums for the respective games and get either very amused or very depressed for yourself, depending on your state of mind. Presumably, these are the same people who are convinced that social justice warriors broke Mass Effect: Andromeda, sabotaging it so that they couldn't jerk off enough to the female character models.

Obviously something that doesn't bother other people as much as myself. Smiley: lol

Just think it's silly that you have one branch of congress go through a ton of effort to create a document that gets ignored by the other branch, so they can go through a bunch of effort to create a document that'll get ignored by the first one, at least until they all sit down together and work out something that'll work for both bodies. Just an IMO, but there's probably a couple of wasted steps in there. Smiley: rolleyes

I'm going to need Cliff's Notes because I had to stop reading there due to tears from all the laughing made it impossible to continue. I enjoy a good satire. The second link though? Farming 4chan and the Youtube comments sections for an article unironically? Really? Might as well search the ocean for water to complain about wetness.

Not that I doubt there are people like that, just that the writer is a hack over-inflating the reaction for clickbait.

I guess two decades of playing Grand Theft Auto didn't desensitize people as much as everyone said it did. Smiley: rolleyes

Aren't there mods for that? I can't believe there's not mods for that. There's always mods for that...

That's working as intended though. The intent is that the "common man" House of Reps gets to make a bill, the "elite" Senate gets to make a bill and then they reconcile it into something both are happy with. For certain definitions of happy. It's only wasted effort if you don't care about the differences between the two chambers. Which is a legitimate thing to not care about, but so it goes.

Why not just make one bill that will pass both houses in the first place?

Oh, there's people like that. Like I said, you can read the Steam forums (or any gaming forum, really). But I just linked to the article as a handy catch-all and primer on "People are going ape over this".

Of course, in regards to trolling, I think we've reached singularity with Poe's Law in that regard.

Each chamber has a slightly different representation of the electorate. Having something that will pass through both filters means it is more likely to be broadly accepted by the population as a whole. (Well in theory at least... Smiley: rolleyes)

Sure, and part of the filtering process is both chambers creating their own draft legislation.

I guess I get your argument, I just don't see the problem with it. At least writing legislation is "working" in a body that has significant vacations from their 2-4 day work weeks.

Are you new to Steam? To internet gaming in general?

Citing Steam forums as proof of some large group of gamers freaking about about **** is silly. The Steam forums, and gaming forums in general, are pretty much the poster children for minority gamers raising a stink about **** online. And others running with it for troll lolz.

Edit:
Might as well be an article written about Pold citing Tumblr and NeoGaf forums about some SJW freak out.

I never said it was a majority group unless you're implying that Alt-Right loons make up the majority of gamers. I said that there were Alt-Right gamers getting their dander up about this.

You are oddly defensive about this Smiley: wink2

Edit: Oh, and I've had too many conversations with people legitimately convinced that SJW's forced Bioware to make their female chick "ugly" to convince myself that it's all just "trolling". There's people sincerely convinced that the New Leftist Order is coming after their precious vidyagames.

Only one post (two now). Just reminds me of the articles my cousin posts, just opposite ends of the spectrum. He and Pold would probably get along very well. Who knows, he may actually be Pold.

Plus, what else am I going to do? It's 100 degrees on the shop floor and I'm stuck behind a machine with my programming laptop waiting for them to get their shit together and run this damned thing.

There's an op-ed disguised as a news article on Cinemablend about Schumacher's Bat Nipples.

If that sounds like something you'd want to read then, and only then, will you know you're bored.
