As long as people are mailing each other dead animals I'll have at least a passing interest in the subject.

A new Breitbart article about wrongdoing by a games journalist regarding reporting on the Brad Wardell harassment allegations back in 2012. It's discussion of old news, but damn if it didn't get results. A number of people who wrote about it back when it was relevant, often basing their articles on Kotaku's without further fact checking, have come out today and apologized to Brad Wardell. Here's one such example.

Edit: In other GG news, Operation Skynet is apparently underway. As far as I can understand it, it's an attempt to get people in the movement listening to not just our loudest voices, but to the voices of everyone in the movement. This is apparently done by following other members of GG. I don't claim to understand it, since I had literally visited Twitter something like ten times before GG and even then just to look for updates from webcomic artists. But I have to say I like the artwork. Edit: Specifically talking about the ME one.

Edit: Another article regarding journalistic issues on the way from Milo, apparently.

You know most people will try to disguise their intentions better than this, but I suppose you guys get bonus points for at least being honest about it.

I dunno, that article... it's like being back in high school again with someone finding "proof" that so and so cheated on someone else and put misleading information in the school newspaper to cover their tracks, while forgetting they have a facebook page that's open to the public.

TL;DR = needs more dead animals.

Honestly, worst case scenario I can see is a few people will end up in echo chambers, but at the same time I don't see that being too big an issue since it's not like they're preventing themselves from seeing the opposition's point of view. That's not GG's style. That's the other side's style.

My lulz for the day: Anti-GGer goes off(from zero to LAZORS! in 1.2 seconds) on MTG website because of belief that they removed his author page due to his stance on GG. Turns out, it was due to a simple change in their system that removed all author pages. As one GGer put it: Best Birthday present ever. Smiley: laugh

Seriously though, that is one hell of a rant.

I'm sure it has happened more times than we can count, but I'll take a look while I wait for my lunch to heat up.

Edit: I remember this, but I don't remember who made the initial comparison of gamers to Hitler Youth. This may be one of the earlier ones. Edit2: Found where I saw it. It doesn't sound like he knew where it came from. Edit3: It sounds like it might have been these people. Edit4: Or maybe not. Based on reading some of the tweets, that account has to be satirical. Edit5: Yeah, satire. No idea if it really was them who made the image, but I have seen people comparing gamers with ***** with sincerity. Heck, at one point Joss Whedon compared GG with the KKK, which has to be Godwin's-adjacent, if not pure Godwin's.

Edit: Found a bit more on why he thought he had been banned for his anti-GG views. Apparently he was saying some things...well I'll let you decide how to describe this.

Huh. He just keeps going.

And even if it WAS somehow a big deal that I said I wanted to see every ‪#‎GamerGate‬ member tossed into a gas chamber and the switch thrown (it isn't - they're the ones using the Holocaust as an excuse to avoid focusing on the substance of the essay and the truth of their own historical evils).

Edit: It's gone past being funny. Reading some of the other stuff he's posted is getting into "seriously disturbed" territory.

Wikipedia's co-founder asks GGers to work on a neutral GG article due to editor shenanigans.

Quote:
Wales’ other notable appearance concerning GamerGate related articles edited the wording of the now deleted GamesJournoPros article. Many editors had changed the page, to dispute the idea of collusion between journalists on the mailing list. However, after researching personally, Wales found the allegations of collusion to be “obviously true.”

Tee hee.

I made the mistake of listening to him on a stream with KingofPol and Sargon for a bit. Holy crap, this guy is even worse than I thought.

The good news is that most of this is at least winding down and would be forgotten real soon. The bad news is it'll probably pick back up next Wednesday.

So just in time for gg discussion, Ubisoft decided that they can show exactly how broken current system really is.

I personally stopped buying ubi, ea stuff a while ago, but it should open some people's eyes a little.

I liked AC4: Black Flag and Watch Dogs but was glad I killed my pre-order for Unity. That crap be crap. Also, bugs aside, opinions seem to be that the game play took a step back in scope from AC3 & 4.

Still holding out hope for Far Cry 4 though since it's essentially running on FC3's engine.

Sargon got doxxed a while back. So someone sent him a cutlery set. I'd imagine there's an in-joke there, but damned if I know it. Either way, in a show of not caring about getting doxxed, Sargon posted an unboxing video. I'll let you know when he inevitably gets SWATted.

Yeah, it has been a slow night. Which is good. I didn't need another night like last night.

Edit: So much for a slow night. CBC has released a piece on GG. While talking about harassment, shows images of Milo Yiannopoulos and David Pakman. Neither is very happy. Only video I could find was recorded from the TV by a guy using his phone and the sound quality is not worth linking.

The last game I bought based on a name on the credits was the Arc the Lad remakes on Playstation 1 because I adored the localization work they did on the Lunar games.
