Someone put a leash on Neuer before he starts getting too far away from his goal.

And Schweinsteiger is the Germanest of all Germans, one last shot for Argentina.

They've got about 2 or 3 days of vacation time now until their clubs need them for preparation for the new season.

I spent the last two hours hearing about how exciting the game was from people that didn't even know the game existed two months ago.

And we'll all forget about it for another 4 years or so, of course. Besides the NFL pre-season is just around the corner, and people will be excited for some "real football" any day now.

Nice firefox, 'pre-season' isn't in your vocabulary but 'pee-season' is? I give up. Smiley: oyvey

I would have enjoyed the game more if Argentina hadn't played so incredibly defensively, but it was still a good match. Congratulations to the Germans.

Messi didn't deserve the golden ball and looked like he knew it. Honestly, he didn't look fit in the final - I think he sprinted once, in extra time, and spent a lot of time walking.

It almost didn't matter what he did anyway, it would have been him or Neymar who got that if either of them made the finals regardless of how anyone actually did in the tournament.

edit: for sh*ts and giggles, the player rankings promoted by FIFA don't even have Messi in the top 10 nor as the best forward (4th behind Robben, Müller and Benzema).

Sounds like a step away from the 'everyone go online and vote for your favorite guy' kind of thing.

Also, he should have just refused the award. A little extra controversy would have been a good finish to it all.

The top recently decided to double their own wages, just because. And if they weren't corrupt to the bone how do you think a country like Qatar with no history of football nor a climate even remotely suited for the game would ever have gotten the World Cup?
