A ton of people agree with me about sweaters but they're afraid they'll get ripped to shreds if they post here.

I routinely ban anyone who posts sweater or yarn references out of spite, so they're not wrong!

What? Someone has to do it!

I wonder how he died. I like to think all those years of people loathing him created some massive ball of negative karma that poisoned his soul or something.

Oh yeah. Sweaters.

Oh really? With Phelps it became obvious? Not like most of the thousands killing each other in Syria right now.. or suicide bombings or even the entirely history of the human race?

Just say what you mean already! "His preaching was so evident, unconditional and unfounded, that it became really obvious every Christian should be put up against the wall!!"Smiley: laugh

Maybe 'preaching' was the wrong word, but you read way more into that post that I had intended. It's not about you.

I'd not really associated Fred Phelps with an organized religion. His message was hate; Hate for gay people. He made it obvious that he hated them. He obviously tried to justify and spread that hate with something familiar and trusting - Christianity. It was obvious that it was a personal vendetta, probably some kind of psychological thing and not the words of anyone's particular god that caused him to and his followers to protest the funerals of soldier.

On the other hand, he was 83. That's more of an endorsement than a deterrent, really.
