We're talking about reading posts, right?

I thought that was more an allusion to my lazily spreading gbaji posts around to other threads...

Sigh. Except it's not "swaths". It's individual homes, here or there. You're trying to make this out to be some kind of land grab. It's not. The Israelis already own/control the land in question.

Just so we're clear, you're arguing that it's ok for a state to completely ignore property rights of property holders and seize and destroy said property without benefit of any due process or rule of law and then give that property to other private citizens. Homes, in point of fact.

No. I already said I don't agree with the practice.

What I'm saying is that it has nothing at all to do with the broader issue of Palestinian and/or Israel statehood, either in the context of either one having a right to exist, or not to exist, or attempting to exist, or the other side allowing it to attempt to or succeed at existing.

Quote:
Edit: As for numbers, it's not really hugely relevant, but lets say thousands. That's fairy inarguable. This has happened to thousands of Palestinian homes. People have had their land, which they legally owned, taken from them and given to others without due process. Thousands of people.

Correct. And I think that's wrong. But that's "individuals having their property seized and homes on said property destroyed". This is not the same as "Israelis are not allowing a Palestinian state to exist so it's ok for Palestinians to oppose the existence of an Israeli state". Alma argued that this practice was somehow equivalent to Palestinian leaders refusing to recognize the right of Israel to exist as a state at all. And I would hope you can agree that this is a mind numbingly moronic claim. One has *nothing* to do with the other.

It does actually. as the "existence of an Israeli state" was literally a process of "individuals having their property seized and homes on said property destroyed" 50 years ago or whatever it is now. So, YES, MASSIVELY relevant. It's the modern ONGOING version of what the core complaint about Israel is. Just how stupid are you, exactly?

Yes, one is physically removing people from their homes the other is just rhetorical speech.

Removing people from their homes in the abstract is a lot less effective.

I really only see this situation resolved via a one state solution or the extinction of one of the interested parties.

Eradication of both parties is a special case of the eradication of a party, one which doesn't significantly reduce the number of claimants, in fact it is more likely to result in a situation where there are multiple de facto claimants to the region, thus muddying ownership rights.

Still seems like the best solution in this case. If you can't play nicely you don't get to keep your stuff.

Interestingly, that is how parts of the moral case for portions of Salafist resistance doctrine was developed. Why do you hate America ?

That's just completely false. WTF? You just make **** up?

No. It's not. It's not relevant, and it's not the core complaint about Israel. The core complaint about Israel is that it's a Jewish state. Period. If it were a Muslim state, which had otherwise formed in the exact same manner, with the same funding, and the same political support, no one would be arguing it had no right to exist. Want to know why I know this? Because every single one of the other states around there were formed as Muslim states, in ways very similar to Israel. And no one argues they don't have a right to exist.

All the BS about Israel "stealing land", is just that: BS. All the other nations (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Iran) were formed by European interests drawing lines on a map. Every. Single. One. They are all just as arbitrary as any other, and in all cases, you could argue that the local nomads got screwed by the arrangements. Yet only Israel is singled out for this. It's not about how their nation was formed, or who decided who got which land. It's never been about that. It's is ultimately about antisemitism and religious intolerance. That's it. The Muslims can't stand the idea of a Jewish state in the region. Period.

Hell of a lot smarter than you, apparently. I can at least read a history book and make sense of it. You? Not so much.

What the **** are you talking about? How is you think land was granted to create Israel, exactly? Please explain how it was related to you "in history books". My god, you are monumentally ignorant, aren't you?

False. Insanely false. Serious question: Do you have any actual acquired knowledge of anything? I mean that sincerely. We all know your anti-intellectual feelings, and your complete disregard for intellectual rigor, but is there *anything* that you've learned in your adult life? All of your knowledge and critical thinking skills seem to have abruptly stopped at about the age of 11. Your math seems to stop there, basically at algebra, your reading comprehension skills at about Harry Potter.

Was there a point in time that you decided actively to just guess all the time instead of learning anything new?

In exactly the same way the land was granted to create Syria, and Lebanon, and Jordan, and Iraq, and Iran. Yet, no one constantly goes on about how they unfairly took the land from those living there, and bulldozed their homes or whatnot.

Get it yet? The one differentiating factor with Israel is that it's a Jewish rather than Muslim state.

And this is the point at which it becomes obvious to me that there's no point in providing the massive amounts of readily available data proving I'm right and you're wrong. Because you'll just say "nope!" and ignore it.

All of the nations I mentioned were formed by European nations drawing their borders on a map. This it not conjecture. It's not wishful thinking. It's freaking historical fact. WTF? I'll ask again: Do you just make **** up and hope no one notices?

Yup, they're identical. The US was created by Europeans drawing **** on maps, too. Identical to Israel, obviously. What else do they have in common, let's see...both have the letter A and so does Syria, so, you know, all the same, obviously.

You are a moron, we are finished interacting until the midterm elections. Have a good break, little buddy.
