The comment he made was pretty hilarious. So many delicious tears today, especially from the freepers.

Heh... kind of funny that that come a day or two after apologizing for his "Wacko Birds" comment in describing Cruz & Co. a little while back.

How else are people supposed to know he's still alive?

Gotta say, as far as conservative US politicians go, I like McCain. He seems like a generally good dude with a head on his shoulders.

He also chose one of those proclaimed "wacko birds" to be his running mate.

He is, to use the technical definition, a crusty old codger.

Palin was perhaps his greatest mistake, and he's a bit too trigger happy, but he's turned into an unexpected sane point in the GOP. Probably because he hates all the young whippersnappers who don't understand how the game is really played.

He won't be happy until we've literally invaded Syria, deposed Assad and set up a nation building campaign a la Iraq.

If that's what counts as "sane" these days... Well, shit. Maybe for the GOP, it is. Still nothing to laud though.

McCain's just an old guy who holds grudges forever. That's really it. Anything he's said recently that sounds sane is because someone slighted him in some way and he's seeking revenge. It's really his sole motivation in life.

He seems like he'd be an angry drunk. An angry drunk who'd drone on and on about his time as a POW.

I am going to defend him a little here. His concession speech was one of the best I have heard. It was further magnified by the fact that he defied his own crazy crowd that was ready to boo.

I liked McCain before the 2008 election, then he kinda turned into a **** bag. He clearly isn't presidential, (he might be a leader, but he isn't a president.) I think he is a good politician, and has represented his constituents and all Americans in the way he felt he should. I think he is one of the more straight up members you have and not nearly as flaky as a lot of the younger generations. He also calls a spade a spade, and won't hesitate to point fingers at people in his own party for being off base.

He seems like an alright guy, a solid Congressional representative, but not really presidential material.

Thats my opinion. I still think Huckabee should have been the nominee. He seems like a President.

I've always liked McCain's directness. If that were necessarily coupled with honesty, I'd totally vote for him as president.

McCain is pretty nondescript without his military record and being grumpy. He just kind of says what he needs to say to remain in the public.
