Can you earn more money with a phd in sociology than business?
Unknowable, really. If you mean on average, almost certainly not. On average, the money's really in professional degrees. Doctors, Lawyers, MBAs etc. If that's really the concern, go to Law School, then Business School.

But regardless, the real money doesn't come from the degree but your skill in gaming systems to your advantage. A degree will, however, give you more options in doing so.

I have three As that were dropped down to Bs because of "attendance issues". It is what happens when a raging alky turns 21 during the middle of the semester. Aced my piano and singing tests though, and will be moving up a vocal studio a semester ahead of time :D
