Not trying to degrade you, but many admins have seem to forgotten that we who pay, are CUSTOMERS. Not employees, or subordinates.

The OOT is a larger community and people do post here because honestly, the Asylum is dry which is why it's dead. Even THEY got bored of their own play area. Should we tone things down? I'm sure we could use a little tweaking - most of us are used to each other and therefor don't get buttchapped over the name calling however we need to understand that we get new posters who arn't used to us and our jokes.
remember we are this large because we welcome new posters. We're human we will have our likes and dislikes. We should also be mindful that if we dont want something made fun of we probably shouldnt put it on a public forum.

As a customer, I don't expect them to do everything I ask/say they should do. But I do believe they need to provide customer service. How hard is it to make a post saying why they're locking a thread just before they lock it?

They aren't accusing me personally of it, but I can see how my thread could be seen as the open door for other more heavy handed moderators to come in here with a billy club and a code of conduct bible.
I'm just saying I don't think that's fair. I don't assume for a moment that this decision was yours. Or Exo's for that matter. I don't want to shoot the messenger, and I think it's important to point out that you in particular stand to lose most in this whole affair.

7-11? Nah.

More like the guy who runs his own shop and has the legal right to deny you service if you are an cnut of a customer. It wouldn't be the first time I'm asked by my boss to tell a client we refuse to do business with them.

You can come into my shop and tell me how to run my own business, I don't care how much of the store you claim you have the ability to purchase.

Personally, I've grown fond of the OOT, as is currently is(was?) and dislike this change of direction as much as the rest, but we'll see to what extent they actively change the dynamics of it. Hopefully it won't be a big change, but we'll see. If the community it driven into the ground so to speak, (As I hope it is not) then you will have lost a forum, not gained one.

Well, I'll at least try to refrain from rating anyone 10 times on a single post again today.

You just moved way up the admin ladder. Without being condescending or anything, seriously Thank you. This is all we ask. An explanation as to why we can't post in a thread anymore.

Thanks Exo!

So much freaking Smiley: inlove ITT. It's like one big freaking orgy. I frequent both the Nut house and here, but here I can hit refresh at 5 minute intervals and see a new post. It's 3 hour intervals over there. And, yes, I am a very immature 25 year old person. I like the stupid little chats we have here. But, I also do understand that it is a public forum that anyone can see. I just wish the people in question would come to us first before whining.

I was referring to being ****** at the drop of a hat.

In before anyone does an imitation of Mindel complaining that a hat has, in fact, been dropped, and the dry-cleaning costs will ruin you.

Oh, okay, that makes more sense. I'm totally not territorial about *********** that would only result in Nixnot and I being thrust in to a pitched battle where we would, as mighty Titans, struggle atop the precipice of the world until the end of days.

Also, is this lame, disjointed attack day in the OOT? Smiley: confused

People just need to get on vent and hear Mindel - she is hillarious. I dont know where this "bitter, mean" thing came from. She and melody have differing opinions and different ways of expressing things. Each had a valid point but that disagreement is between them.

Being buttchapped over admins schpanking does not amount to anything - take MY word for it. Are they going to do things that aren't fair? sure. Its our choice as customers to either continue to post or move on.

You know incoherent arguments are my style.

It's so much easier to win an argument when the other party gives up out of confusion. Smiley: grin

I just think it's time. The OoT has grown beyond it's little swimming pool. The asylum has a regular audience of say, 12. Just throwing a number into the air there. Why not uproot, and consume a smaller organism already? The Asylum is the designated area for being mostly fearless of any intervention at all, go there, thrive!

REally, wouldn't that be the easiest route to follow? Move 30 posters or switch links?

Or, take the Asylum threads to the Asylum, which is a large part of the reason behind this whole situation. Smiley: grin

You know, the reason I started posting here in the OOT was because of the content. It has been amusement for me while I'm at work. If it's going to be toned down, and we're going to be told to "take it to the asylum" I really don't see any reason in renewing my membership either, because quite frankly the Asylum is boring. The OOT is the only forum I even post in. While I agree that any forum is going to require moderation to a degree, if it does turn into this '**** regime' I'm out as well.

What is an asylum thread, though? Anything with a broken wordfilter? Mild sexual content? Outright raunch? Calling Barack Obama an silly cnut?
