I don't know. I was drunk and my stat tracker wasn't running.

Definitely getting better at Arena overall. I'm now consistently hitting 5 wins, and hitting 7-9 wins more often than I hit < 3. I'm not quite at the gold-making level yet, but I can typically get in two or three runs per day without having to really stress about grinding quests. This is acceptable to me.

Yea, I usually go 5+, occasionally get a 3-4 win run which is sad but it happens. Heavily dependent on the draft (and how many of the power cards you can get), so it doesn't bother me too much. That 7+ wins is super nice.

Sometimes, I don't even know how I'm winning with the decks I draft. I have a Warrior deck going right now that I initially thought was terrible, but it's really not too bad. I'm 5-1 currently. Of course, now that I've said something, I'm sure I'll finish 5-3. Smiley: lol

I think that starting out as Mage just instilled in me this feeling that I always need MOAR CARD DRAW (since going through cheap spells can quickly deplete your hand), so even in a slower deck, I tend to get anxious without a bunch.

I actually rarely draft Arcane Intellect when I play mage. I value it pretty low compared to most of the value minions out there, because it's really a late-game card that doesn't affect board state at all. Now, if you can combo it with a mana addict or mana wyrm or auctioneer or something, then sure.

Usually I do Acolytes of Pain on Mage. Azure Drakes, a Gnomish Inventor, too. Arcane Intellect is something I'll occasionally have a one-of in a deck, but I try to have bodies that draw if possible, since I end up running a high number of spells overall.

I tend to stay away from Mage in Arena. I know it's very strong (Flamestrike and Fireball being basic cards), but I just don't have as much fun on it as other classes. I really like Shaman and Rogue in Arena. Warlock can be fun, too. I stay away from Paladin and Priest.

Paladin and Druid are my favorite arena classes. Mage and warrior are second, with priest a bit behind that. I stay away from Shaman because I play it so much in ranked. Similar with Warlock lately. Rogue I just feel requires too many cards to be reliable in arena. If you can get something like a miracle deck in Arena you'll go far, but I'm not confident enough with the class to be able to draft either that or a tempo-based rogue with all the right cards. Hunter I just flat out don't play...

Well, Amaz hit Legendary on a F2P Priest account. It was pretty cool. He got flooded with new subscribers, which was cool to see.

He did have a Ragnaros that he got in a pack while laddering, and I think he played a couple Arena runs when he started, but he didn't spend any money on it, and he didn't really grind that much Arena. I guess there was a really crazy match versus a Hunter. Hopefully a VOD goes up at some point.

ETA: Here's the Hunter game:

Verizon FIOS continues to be the bane of my existence. I've been having 20-30 seconds of downtime every couple of hours, and it always seems to be during an Arena run. Currently 0-2 with a decent hunter deck due to this. The worst is when I am able to reconnect just in time to see my hero explode. FIOS customer service is a pain in the ***.

I might just tank my rating this season. I'm thinking about making a hyper aggressive Paladin deck to work on getting it to 60 and then for a golden hero. If I focus on a deck geared towards short games, perhaps I can get my win total up faster than with a higher winrate but slower deck.

I don't mean insta-conceding games or anything, just playing a faster deck to cram as many games in as possible.

I had a Priest absolutely wreck me with an Imp Master and that double health and set attack equal to health spell combo in Ranked today. Made me walk away for ten minutes.

No hard removal? that's a 3 card, 7 mana 10/10.

Should be fairly deal-able with, even a silence would be value.

It's not really surprising to be lacking hard removals or silences on turn 4, which is the earliest that combo can be played. And that's 10 damage ON turn 4, with potential loss from that combo alone on turn 6.

Plus, the Imp Master isn't an attractive trading option. It'll take multiple minions to trade for it at that mana point, and it spawns a 1/1, which won't take multiple minions. So that already gives the Priest a fair bit of insurance that they'll be seeing at least 10 damage from it.

Now, obviously, it has weaknesses with the fact that any damage on turn 3 diminishes it's return on 4-7. But still, it's such an unattractive target if the Priest is playing well, that's not a huge issue.

And Priests have really strong early game control, through SW:P, and cards like Northshire Abbey are going to be natural minion draws, which will protect the Imp master.

Plus, any hard removal used here is one you can't use down the road, so it still gives a nice advantage to the Priest. They used two meh cards and one solid card to trade for one of your BEST cards. That's not a bad deal at all, particularly when they also got 10 damage in the trade.

It's also worth noting that your removal will probably take all your mana at turn 4/5, so that keeps you from doing any other board maintenance.

I often run with an owl in my deck, rarely two.

But I don't treat owls as minions unless forced to; they're a less effective, but cheaper, remove in my mind.

And I don't typically keep them in my draw hand. Against a Priest I might, just to take out one of their Clerics if I need. But even then, if the rest of my hand is crappy, I might mulligan. And if I have a strong draw so I'm not worried about Clerics, I'll probably drop the Owl.

I did not pull any of my Equalities, an Aldor Peacekeeper, Consecrates, or my Hammer of Wrath. I did have the Elven Archer, though. I have ways to deal with it, I just had bad draws. Didn't pull any of my taunts from the deck, either. Didn't pull my Spellbreaker, either. Smiley: lol

This is hard to accept. After every bad loss, I'm back at my collection trying to 'fix' a problem that might not really be there.

I decided my Hunter deck was about as good as it was going to get without spending any money. I jumped into Ranked with it this morning. After a five game win streak I'm down to 16** with my fingers crossed.

Yeah. I mean, I've certainly been on the other side of things. I had an Arena match the other night where I was at 1 HP for five turns, and managed to take the other guy down from 27 HP. I'm sure he was raging on his side.

Just opened a golden Leeroy. Already have a regular Leeroy, so now I'm trying to decide whether to keep it or DE it for 1600 dust and pick any regular legendary. I'm leaning towards just keeping it for now. There's not much that I really want for a deck at the moment. I guess Ysera might be nice eventually, but I don't know.

Leeroy's snakes should be 'beasts'.
