Amazon is putting up a THQ Action Pack for $14.99. Includes Metro 2033, Darksiders, Nexuiz, Red Faction: Armageddon (with DLC) and Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

Note that it's not live as of this posting. Supposed to go live today tomorrow (July 8th) though. Nice thing about the Amazon packs versus the Steam bundles is that, since Amazon just gives you the individual Steam keys, you can give extras to your friends rather than just "wasting" the game. Is Darksiders any good?

Mafia II is $11.25 on GMG with the "25OFF-ALLTH-EGAME" voucher code on top of its sale price
RAGE: Special Edition is $26.23 with voucher code
Worms: Reloaded is $5.09 with voucher code
Dead Island: GOTY edition is $15 with voucher code

I never did get to play Darksiders, though I did want to. I don't know that I have enough interest in the other games to pay $15 for it. I'm sure it'll go on sale by itself at some point in the future.

Metro 2033 was a good game in my opinion although it's one of those games that habitually goes on sale for $4.99. I already own RF:A but have yet to play it.

Anyone play Sniper Elite V2? $20 at GetGamesGo is a nice price for it given how new it is although I'm skeptical I'll commit to it since I have enough stuff to play already.

Played and finished it, $20 isn't a bad price but I would wait for it to go down to $10.

Darksiders was on sale a while back for five bucks, that's when I picked it up. I just started playing it last week and am a few hours in. It's not bad, but I'm glad I got it cheap, I would have been annoyed to pay full price for the game. Best description I can come up with is God of War lite.

I already own Metro 2033 and Red Faction and don't have much interest in the other couple so I guess I'll pick up Darksiders as a stand-alone should I decide to get it.

This is possibly a complete list of games that will be discounted during the Steam Summer Sale. Grain of salt and all that while you browse all 116 pages.

Two pages of that made my eyes cross between all the DLC, multiple editions, foreign editions, etc. Plus Steam will have a ton of stuff on sale for 25% or so -- it's the big dailies that get everyone excited.

For anyone who picked up Disciples II when it was free on GMG, it's worth an additional $3 trade-in credit. I picked up Mafia II for $8 between the sale price, the 25% voucher and trading in Disciples II.

GMG allows you to trade in games that are on their client. You can't trade in things like Steamworks titles since GMG has no way to remove your access to the games once you get your Steam key.

The EU ruled that it is legal to trade digital games, so it's only a matter of time.

So now we'll all get to pay more for games to make up for the trading. Yay...

Or maybe I'll get lucky and they'll just region lock the hell out of the EU.

They already make things cost numerically the same in euros and usd. That should more than make up the 'lost' trading money.

I don't foresee anyone saying "Oh well, we were making too much from them already" and not trying to make up the difference.

I thought the euro/dollar thing was largely a Steam issue and other outlets priced more accurately based on the exchange rate.

I forsee them pricing it (or attempting to price it) at a value that optimizes price (x) buyers (-) minimal costs rather than a higher amount due to redistribution rights. That pricing strategy is basically why they are making so much of direct distro sales.

People are much more likely to trade in a $50 game than a ~$5-20 game they got on sale. I do see trade in values dropping, even if the volume picks up from ease of use.

The issue isn't trade-ins to vendors, it's cross people trading. I finish a game and give it to another person or trade it for another key. The vendors never see a dime of it. In person this is mitigated by the number of people who know who are going to trade physical media with you. On the internet, there's no bounds to it.

Or, like I said, they'll just region lock games for the EU the same way they currently region lock games for Russia and the eastern Bloc states (who buy their games for huge discounts over US/European pricing). If you can't stop it, you can just limit it by not not allowing the traded games to leave the EU.

Green Man Gaming is giving away Hacker: Evolution today. Expect the site to run very slow because, hey, free stuff and everyone wants their piece. I'd recommend just slogging through the "purchase" and saving the actual download for another day.

With the game you get a voucher code for 20% off anything on the site. Stacks with sale prices, does not stack with other vouchers/special offers.

Also, Mount & Blade franchise is 75% off at Impulse today.

The Summer Sale seems to have a few new features this year. There is a Community Choice sale, every 8 hours you can vote for one of 3 games to be on sale with the displayed discount during the next 8 hours. Currently the vote is between 75% off Saints Row 3, 66% off Witcher 2, and 66% off Arkham City.

Also there is a Flash Sale, which I guess is a couple of randomly chosen discounted games available for a short time. Currently it's Deus Ex: HR for $7.50 (yes again) available for 5 more hours, Rayman Origins for $15 available for just over 11 more hours, Spacechem for $2.50 (10 hours), and Mafia 2 for $7.50 (8 hours).
