Well yeah, but some people fail at google. Or wowhead. Doesn't hurt to have a list here too.

Guess all you have to do is provide a link to the list on wowhead which sorted all of the rep gear by occupation and you'll make this post moot, right?

What I find interesting by looking at this list, is that Casters get 1-2 pieces more than Melee, esp. Plate Melee.

Look at that Cloth list, sheesh. 7 Pieces vs Plate Melee's 3.

Must be nice to be a gearing up S.Priest...

Back when Cata came out there was a blog post on wowhead that listed the rep rewards by armor/role type, but I can't seem to find it now. So it's entirely possible that rusttle posting this is useful. :-)

There's a combo of spirit and non-spirit stuff in there so technically speaking I've mixed the dps and the healer stuff.

I could have sworn Therazane enchants weren't BoA for some reason. That just goes to show how much I don't pay attention.

It's because they're not. The top-end Sons of Hodir ones were, but these are not. A quick visit to Wowhead confirms this.

I know rusttle isn't on either of your Top 10 lists, but you gotta give credit where credit is due.

It's not hurting anyone and it might actually help some. I see no reason to pick on him over this.

Thanks for the list. Even though this stuff is easy to find on Wowhead, it's nice to see it all on one post in an easy to read format.

I've been lazy getting gear for my Shaman's resto offspec and this post reminded me about rep items. I can buy like 4 or 5 pieces today :)

Keyword being "most." I'm not saying the post is a life-altering revelation, but it makes life easier for those of us not as proficient in the Wowhead site.

To be honest, before this thread, I'd use Wowpedia to look up each faction and then find the rewards there. This sure makes it easier.

And generally, I think it's bad mannered to ridicule someone for helping out, regardless of how useful that help might be. Rusttle went through the trouble of linking every piece of item into an easy-to-read guide. That alone is more useful than the last dozen threads we've had in here.

Remember that some of these aren't suitable for either healing or DpSing. You COULD use them, yeah. But you're gonna want to replace them much sooner (where some rep items will last until you start raiding, afaik).

Nice for them, yeah, but kinda a necessary evil for as long as casters don't share all stats.

People seem to be a bit trigger happy right now. I never ridiculed rusttle, don't know how it came off that way. I simply said it seemed a little late since a majority of the people are probably past this point in Cataclysm. I never said it wasn't useful or wouldn't help anyone, but alas this is the interwebz.

I simply don't get why people need or want these kind of lists when it's so easy to search wowhead for the available items for a slot, check which is the best (especially now that Wowhead ranks them for your class and spec) and see where it comes from, if you can't get it easily check for the second and third best.
And you pass the rep vendors anyway so generally I know if they have anything useful for me and at what rep, if I forget I check ingame in atlasloot.

So everyone doesn't go to wowhead and generate a gear list of pre-raid gear, using stat weights of course, for every slot for every commonly played spec of the main toons they play?

I check these forums almost everyday, so a new topic is nice to see and read through. I don't mind if stuff gets repeated, it is some activity on the boards.

Keeping that in mind, I find it sort of interesting to read the arguments for and against posting on a message board. The thing that always gets me is that there is a certain set of people that feel it is not necessary to post certain questions or information because it has already been done. The thing is that you end up with a book instead of a forum. The whole point of a forum is to have conversations, while the game is not changing that rapidly you end up talking about older stuff.

That is the whole point of a forum. I get my jollies either way as I get to read the discontent and satisfy my need to waste time waiting to get off work...

And keep the list handy so that it's easy to check every time something drops?
And put all the BoE items onto an Auctioneer/Auctionator snatch list, just in case?

Not me. Definitely not.

Everything that I need/want is right there in front of me, so I can plot which reps I'm gonna work on (currently Therazane)

If I could rate posts, I woulda rate the OP up for it.

ZAM already reduced the relevance of the site by replacing much of the content with wowhead. As a business decision, that may have been necessary, but why not let people try to post the occasional game related material? If they don't, we're likely to become a rather sad group of leftovers in a forum that used to be part of a site that people could go for information.

Is WOW dying? Maybe not. Is Alla dying? Perhaps at least this forum will if every post about WOW is greeted with "old news" and "that's on wowhead".

Yes, that one! I tried doing a search last night for "Cataclysm Reputation" and that didn't show up, or at least not on the first two or three pages.

Rusttle's post might be a bit late, but I'd think most people out there probably still have alts they need to gear up, even if their main is decked out in all the rep gear and JP gear they need. I applaud him for putting forth the effort to make this post, now how do we go about getting this stickied somewhere? Maybe someone needs to re-do the sticky for useful links so it applies for Cata, and we can stick it in there.

Also, while Atlas Loot is helpful, it's not always 100% accurate. It doesn't have the leather bracers that Chimaeron drops listed for example. There's probably some other things it's missing too.

This. ;-)

As for timing, well, maybe me and my guild are a bit more casual, but we haven't leveled every alt up to 85 much less decked them all out in 10m raid gear yet, so this is still a useful list for us and probably anyone else who didn't "beat" the game in the first two weeks.

lol Thanks. And I keep hoping as well. Who knows, maybe they'll do what they did with the LK enchants and eventually make them BoA. That'd be nice, because I'm too lazy to do the Therazane stuff with the rest of my 85s. I had to push myself just to do it once *snicker... she said "do it"*.

Eh, Therazane isn't nearly as big of a pain to get rep for as Sons of Hodir was, because of the tabard. If they make the enchants BoA fine, if not I don't care that much. Especially since if you do the quest chain (which you have to to even get up to Therazane's throne) you get to revered rep anyways. Not much longer to get exalted with the tabard and/or dailies.

What's weird is the head enchants are all BoA, but you still have to have the appropriate rep to use them iirc. That doesn't make much sense to me.

They also jack up the prices on the BOA enchants, which I don't like, if I don't need a boa, why can't I buy a regular one for the 60-70g instead of a boa for 170g

You're complaining about an extra 100g? Go do five dailies. :-p Seriously, 100g is like the equivalent of $10. Sure, I get annoyed when I waste $10 but I'm not going to bitch about it.

Well, when my bis gear pre 372 is 4pc 365 pvp, switching between pvp and pve head enchants can get quite expensive. I'm not saying I don't have the cash, but in wrath they used to have the jacked up boa priced one and the cheaper non boa one.

Might just be cheaper and easier to get two of the same head gear, that way you can save re-gemming as well.
