Did someone post this already? Apologies if I missed it.

The "intent" with 3.3 is to allow people to mail BOA items between their Horde and Alliance characters. This includes only BOA items and not gold or other items.

I definitely had NOT seen this, major thanks for the link!

This is total win-sauce for me. I have a Horde Paladin on a server with all other Alliance classes. Now I can actually give him some good stuff! YESSSSS!

this is cool. Now when Worgens are playable, I can delete my Ally toon I have now on my realm, and replace her with it..and than level it :D

The next step would be a BoA mail system, where I could mail BoA stuff across realms to my other toons . . . >.>

Not to worry. Any minute now they're going to announce that you can mail all your epics from one character to another, so you don't even have to gear up a new main. For only $35.

XD

I've always been a big supporter that once it binds to me, it should become account bound. But to have to pay..lol. no.

This is definitely some good news. I've always wanted to level up some of my horde toons, but it taking longer than my allys with their BoA stuff, has prevented me from continuing with them.

I like this idea alot. I have a 72 rogue on alliance I haven't played forever. Would be cool if I could mail him BOA items as I have the shoulders, chest, and agility weapons between my horde hunter and druid.

I'm not a big fan. It feels like they continue to break down the walls between horde and alliance. I guess I'd be less annoyed if this (and the ability to have A&H toons on the same realm) was restricted to PvE servers. Its not that I don't get the appeal. However, if this is going to improve the game experience for some players, I won't begrudge the change.

And surely there is humor in the fact that now Carebears can share!

no offence intended, but funny is funny

You know, come to think of it, it is more of "BOSFA (Bind on Same Faction Account)," isn't it?

Actually more like BOSFARA.

Bind On Same Faction And Realm Account

Which is pretty limiting considering how many emblems and shards the darn things cost.

I have two accounts both bound to the same Bnet account. I want to mail and trade items freely between them.

Tell me which congressman I should write over at Blizzard? Smiley: frown

After they lifted the cross-faction restriction on accounts I wanted to make Alliance characters, but none of them ever got far because I grew tired of trying to do everything completely from scratch. Being able to use the BoA items that are collecting dust on my Hordies would be nice since I've always wanted to see a little more of the Alliance side of things before Cata hits.

This move sounds pretty logical to me. The only method of transferring BoA items cross-faction at present is by using the Paid Faction Service feature. However, you'd have to spend $60 and wait six days to transfer a character to the opposite faction and then back to its original faction. The six-day wait isn't that bad, but not everyone has $60 to burn for stuff like that.

On the other hand, if Blizzard allows BoA items to be transferred across different realms, then I'll raise an eyebrow. But then again, features like the Paid Faction, Paid Race, and Character Recustomization have all done the same.

Sounds great and all, But I wish they would let us mail gold. It's just a big hassle right now to get someone you trust to do the whole neutral auction house thing. They are just putting unnecessary roadblocks in the way. The only thing I can think of to justify making it so difficult is maybe to stop the economy from getting wonky, but I doubt it would be bad.

Disregard me, just another crackpot yelling at the trees.

I think this can only be a good thing personally. Realistically what difference does it make to game play? All it means is maybe more people wandering around with heirloom items and BOA pets. I don't see how anyone could argue that's a bad thing. Heirloom gear may be seen as OP to some I guess but no more so imo than dungeon gear of the correct level obtained through boosts and it is only a couple of pieces as well, not a whole set. I have never encountered any issues with regards to it and I am on a PVP realm as well.

With Cataclysm Blizz are putting a lot of focus onto old world content and this change I think will encourage more people to see and experience old world in particular as BOA heirloom items will make levelling a character on the opposite faction much more enjoyable as the boost the heirloom items give you does make things easier. To truly play the game to it's "full potential" if you will, you should be exploring all zones and areas and that includes those which are faction specific. Playing as both factions does give a different experience and I think this change will encourage more people to do just that.

I certainly hope this also translates to the BoA Hodir enchants that you can buy in the patch, or are those already out? I don't know.
