To explain yet even further...

THEY were spamming the LFG channel for quite some time because someone bailed on them. I was willing to help on a certain condition that I made VERY clear prior to accepting.

Originally I had the impression that they were offering to help him with a quest, but there was miscommunication about what was needed. Based on further posts, it may be that they knew they couldn't do it and lied.

If they offered in good faith, then unfortunately it was a mistake but surely they were nice to offer. I wouldn't blame the OP for assuming someone who could do the instance would know about the skinning, but stuff like that happens all the time.
