Good work man.

BTW, I found a thread on the O-boards that linked your pic. Needless to say it got a gratuitous BUMP. :P

(Much love to my Greymane/ex-FFXI brothers, Aet) ;)

So I just noticed that the Rune of Perfection is gone from the WSG vendor, but there are two rune of duties. Is this simply a mis-type, or is the rune really going away in favor of something else?

Or am I just imagining things and the rune of perfection got changed a long time ago?

I just noticed that too. Hmm... Very odd.

All I did was screen shot every page, then MS Image composer all the pages down into one picture. *shrug* They must have removed it or something.

Ps: Hey Beanz! Where'd you see that on the O-Boards? I might have to crack some heads of someones stealing my work. =3

They have 2 lvl's for the runes - lvl20 and 40 so my guess is that is what they are for the rune of duty. As for rune of perfection they sold in the live version (lvl40 one) 2 days ago as I just bought one. Maybe they don't list it for a rogue as they are caster specific? Or it is possible that they might disappear but strange.

edit: oh sry forgot to thank you for the original link. Nice work and so greatly appreciated!

Well, even then, I think it would be better to grind out the friendly rep for the rune before next Tuesday. Probably should go for honored with AV as well.

Ahh yes, my bet is that's exactly what caused it to not appear.

So I finally got into an AB match on the PTR... A few things to note.

For losing an AB I got 28 "bonus honor." I'll post exactly how many honor points I recived once it gets tabulated... It won't be much, thats for sure.

In an entire game on offence I got 12hk's.. Pretty sad, since on live I usually get 30-40.
It may have been an organized group we faced, or maybe they just had really good gear... I'm not sure...

I'm not usually one to scream "nerf" but what I experienced was kinda rediculous... Every person I faced was able to 2 shot me. And thats with 4k health and tier 2 gear.

And I don't mean "I was going toe to toe with them and getting beat... /cry"
I was getting the opening shot on straglers and keeping them stunlocked until their last 5% of health...

The only class I could beat without blowig all my cooldowns, were the ones that were already at 50% health or lower, and shortly after unstealthing I'd be 2 shotted by one of their team mates. (about 5 seconds after)

Oh and they added a "damage done" section to the end screen... Pretty sad that a warlock can do 60K dmg in the same time I can do 8k ><;
Overall it was a really sad state of affairs... Smiley: cry

I just noticed it seems like there's an upgrade for the Insignia of the alliance, with Medalian of the Alliance. And then there's another which is Talisman of the Alliance. Any idea what they do? Or the Gems and the Pendants? (Pendants needing the new BG tokens)

I'm not really one to cry nerf either, but SOMETHING is up with that story that may need a nerf... I know warlocks are getting a nice little buff, especially with that felguard thing or whatever which I have heard described as a "fury warrior" but 60k vs 8k?! And you in T2? Something is up with that alone imo. It could have been a preform group or something, but still...

I did notice there is an abundance of T3 wearing people on the PTR... Could have been a T3 premade, but I have some decent gear myself, so one would think I wouldn't get obliterated so easily...

The match was extraordinarily pathetic, they had 3 capped through the entire fight... It eventually led to a 5 cap defeat (I think our team gave up towards the end. XD)

I'm not just complaining about the other team having high dmg either, about 5 mages/locks from each side were up in the 50-60k's. The list went something like this: dps casters-->hunters-->warriors-->rogues-->druids/healers (whom may have gotten higher but they were actually healing people that round. lol)

IMO dps casters are kind of like how rogues used to be... The only difference being now you can see them coming from a ways away, so you have some time to think "Oh crap, I'm so dead." Smiley: lol

We'll see how things are when it goes live. If it's as bad as I imagine it to be, I'm sure I won't be the only one dropping N bombs of the non-rasist persuasion. Smiley: grin

Ps: Micros I'm checking into that for ya, but it's giving me errors at the "retrieving character" stage. ><

It's always scary to see just how fast some caster can drop someone... for example my guild runs ZG and we kill the person who gets MC'd by the piles (for fun) and several times it has been our T2 geared MT. Both times the "fight" goes something like full health to 1/2 health in about 2 seconds as the first of the lock's shadowbolt hits, then almost instantly to dead. Literally talking less then 5 seconds total really. I see the same thing in PvP with mages and locks (when they aren't busy fear kiting someone with the metric ton of DoTs) where someone just drops almost instantly. The problem really is a lot of people don't get spell resist sets for PvP, so that shadowbolt with like 4k base damage* will hit for 4k, maybe slightly less depending on the random, LOW resist on gear. Whereas say a rogue's 2k base damage* special will have armor and defense and such tossed into the mix also, which will make a bigger difference then the say 50 or less spell resist** on gear.

Like you said, we'll just have to wait and see how it is when everything goes live... I do know that hunters are recieving a pretty major nerf (and it may be this way for rogues a bit too although in a different way then hunters) until TBC comes out because they aren't (or are they, but I haven't heard anything about it) doing the full reitemzation, they are just changing things like +crit and hit to the new system, but not changing the stats otherwise until TBC. This means that for hunters at least our DPS is effectively being cut in half with the AP change. Look at, say the giantstalker helm on live and test (tbc I assume) Currently it gives 46 AP, but unless it changes in the patch to exactly what is listed on the test link, it will only give 23.

Now, I could be totally wrong and they are going to do the full reitemzation for that, and if so I guess i'moff on what could possibly be effecting rogues... Well, again, I guess it'll be a wait and see.

*I don't know exact numbers, just pulling numbers out of thin air really

**I don't know the exact formulas for how armor and def come into play for abilities and non-spell damage and such, however I do know that I hit for way more on someone wearing cloth than someone wearing plate... so it does come into play somewhat, and even though spells do tend to hit for more per cast and dps (2 second 1k damage cast=500dps roughly, again pulling numbers out of thin air) then abilities/weapons people have less resist then armor when the calc is all done i'd bet.

Fear not, it's a class specific item, and the character I took the screenshots with isn't one of the classes that can use it. Smiley: grin

Just asked on the PTR forums. You do not, repeat, do not need to be exalted with any faction to gain access to all items. You can be neutral and have access to everything.

On the current live realms, I think that the AB vendor will sell you items you don't have the reputation to use yet, unlike the WSG and AV vendors. I know you can see those items at the vendor, anyway.

Do you suppose that if we went and bought the AB Revered and Exalted AB items now, we'd be able to use them after the patch, even though our AB rep was lower?

The AB vendor is interesting in that respect, he'll show you ALL the items rather then just the ones you can purchase. However, that doesn't mean you can purchase them (I tried when I had extra gold one day) so no, that wont work. HOWEVER, if you COULD buy them (not that you can) you could use them come the patch this tuesday because rep no longer matters at all for the rewards. Why would bliizard make you spend tokens and honor on something only be told you can't use it?

I'm pretty sure you could (all the items will be there, but the rep requirement is getting removed and replaced with a token system.)

As to whether or not you can buy them on the live realms, I think my suggestion would be:
"If you want the item, you can afford it and you can buy the item currently... Why not buy it?"
Worst case scenario - The rep requirement still exists on the particular piece of gear you wanted post-patch, at least you don't have to grind rep AND honor marks to obtain said item.

I don't think you can buy it currently though, unless you meet the required reputation. (even though you may be able to see it; when you click on it to purchase it, it says something to the sort of "You do not have the nesssisary reputation to purchase this item.")

@ Micros - The gems are all unique. Stat wise they look like this: 20ap/10crit/10ap&5crit/12spell dmg/10spell crit/6spell dmg & 5spell crit. They're very good and hense why they're unique (160ap from 8 gems would be silly.)

All of the below require level 70, so the stats are kinda irrelavant right now since you'll see em on live well before you can use em (plus it's late and I'm tired. ^^) -
Medalion of the alliance = insignia of the alliance w/ +32 resilience
Talisman of the alliance = +34 resilience and a 20 second bubble-on-use that absorbs 702-774 dmg
Band of triumph = blue melee ring
Pendant of triumph = epic melee necklace (one gem slot)
Band of dominance = blue caster ring
Pendant of dominance = epic caster necklace (one gem slot)

Just wondering.. why dont ya just go char copy over to the test realm.. its free.. you get 4 copy's per update.. takes less then 5 min to copy it over.. you can see all the incomming updates .. test out hte new talents.. go play an AB/AV/WSG or two.

the way Honor looks to be calculated is.. average player(baced on Rank) is worth a total of 20 Honor. that honor is split up baced on the DPS thats delt to the target and the DPS healed from the target. so if the dps you deal is equal to the amount someone had to heal you, it seems to be split 10 to each. it varies from person to person though. i belive its baced on rank and the numbers of times you have killed the person.

all the people worried about gettin the Marks shouldnt be.. your gonna have more marks then you know what to do with, its the Honor.. ohh and the Doomkin / Warlocks / Hunters that are way over powered with the new talent tree's.

This is true, but you also have to download the client with the *cringe* blizzard downloader. My OP was made back when the PTR's just came out; character transfers were taking 4 days and the download was taking 18-24 hours on a fiber optic line.

Supposedly the patch comes out tomorrow so everyone will see it soon enough without having to go through the headache of downloading twice. Smiley: grin

Yes, I'm posting again, to fill you in on my last little tidbit:
That AB match I was telling you all about, netted me 158 honor points.

The match took an avg ammount of time; so theoreticly, with 10 bg's a day you could have a GM weapon in >20 days...
I assume much less time if you actually won. Smiley: lol

HOWEVER, this provides an interesting turn of events... That equates to ~200 marks, if you did non-stop AB...
The marks stack up to 100, and from what I noticed, the mark turn-in guy has been removed... So to get everything you want, you'll pbbly end up with an over-abundance of BG marks, due to the relative lack of honor points gained.

Obviously with this system it's much easier to get items. Almost too easy.
So my advice is:
BG your butt off as soon as the patch comes out.
Best get that sexy gear ASAP, before they mod the system to make it more difficult to attain the items you want. Smiley: sly

I assume he's talking about Moonkin form.
Didn't really seem overpowered to me but *shrug* I didn't play that many matches at all.
