So the development team has really ****** up with all their "developments" lately... how does that make you feel? Give it 4 months a they'll start merging servers again. Seriously though unsubscribe from SE. This **** is retarded.

I couldn't disagree more. I think Seekers of Adoulin and the new Delve system is one of the better things to come to the game.

FFXI is not dying, but I don't agree with Vlor. The new expansion is too much too fast. Unless the content is almost over, things are going to get ridiculous.

It does make me concerned for the long term, that is for sure...

At this point, the only reason I'd quit FFXI is because the new FFXIV ARR rocks so much that I want to spend every free second playing that.

As it is, I plan on playing both, at least for a little while.

Dont like the idea of delve in any way shape or form, as it is alliance only and thats five steps backwards imo and a huge mistake on se part.
Most mmos do better when small group/duo/even some solo content is at max. Hardcore "raid" style gets old fast and is like 10 yrs ago style thinking for todays mmos.

BUT... ffxi is certainly not dying, its never very popular..and never truly dead, it just stays somewhat stable"ish" over the years, considering its age. ancient graphics , old school mmo thinking, keep the subs there...but not very big.

I rather like most of the content, especially anything that favors small groups ^^
I think alliance content should be there yup..but not always have the ultimate rewards. spread em out evenly se and let the subscribers choose how they wish to obtain them. just my opinion.

Only thing I like about Delve is its reward system. Voidwatch really needed something like this.

Rest of it is kinda ******** imo, especially with the patch they're doing tomorrow.

Dyeing is where you add colour... Dying is becoming dead. Dieing is not correct.

I believe Lionheart said "Dieing" because that's how trolls used to spell it back in the day (5-6 years ago) when we used to get multiple "dying" threads a month. Eventually, as a joke, everyone caught on and just started to say "FFXI IS DIEING!" as a way to troll the thread themselves whenever we got another post of the same type.

They are consuming the other content where other people dont want to do voidwatch or dynamis making it harder to get metal plates as an example.

Matsui has said they are focussing now on making Adoulin content suited for soloing and small groups.

I feel that the flow of content that we planned where players would take on higher tiers of content (content level) by progressing in stages is not going as smoothly as we'd like.

Specifically, I would like to adjust the fact that it's difficult to do colonization reives and lair reives in small numbers, as well as the fact that it is difficult to start Skirmish.

For the time being, Delve (the boss battle) has been set as the highest content level.

With this current state, I feel priorities should be placed on implementing and adjusting content for low-man or soloing more than adding further higher tier content, and I would like to work hard while heading in this direction so that a larger amount of players can enjoy the game.

I'm not a fan of alliance content as well, but I believe when Delve was announced, they mentioned it was their for some NMs doable in groups of 6 (eventually?).

Farming can certainly be done in a low-man group already, it's just more efficient with additional people. Bring a THF and you might come out ahead since airlixirs would cost you 500 plasm anyway.

I think content designed to be done and done well with 5-6 people tends to be my favorite. I'm sad I haven't had a chance to take a stab at NNI or Neo Salvage yet, but I'm loving my Meebles group.

Actually, the damage rating of new weapons brings the 100% WSC of new weaponskills back into line and whatnot. If anything we're going backwards to 75-era paradigms.

Dying...? No.

Like a freakish MMORPG French cheese, FFXI is maturing. Those who fail to mature with it will be engulfed by it's cheesy appendages and cast into oblivion.

Slave away your social life, work, and education through our new content which requires you to do just that by joining a strict endgame linkshell which demands your attendance otherwise you'll never see anything coming your way.

This is the new paradigm that people are raving about?
Not sure I want to be around for much longer if that is the case.

You could start your own linkshell, one that only runs a few hours each week and doesn't require people to show up everyday.

Who with?
The EU playerbase on Bahamut isn't exactly big.

Nice try though.

There is no irony. Maybe it doesn't match your ideals of the game, but it is part of the game, and very active.
