Lies, MMO players don't have kids, let alone spouses!

One of my favorite FFXI "urban legends" is the hidden treasure hunter effect gained from carrying a 4-Leaf Mandragora Bud. To this day, I still carry one everywhere I go. I've heard similar rumors over the years about the Lucky Egg, which I also always carry with me. Probably just inventory -2 for me, but you never know...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Valkrum Dunes glitches where PS2 and Xbox 360 users can go swimming at Siren Sands and PC users could climb a cliff at the lizard camps near the Konschtat Highland exit. I remember I use to always try and persuade the party to set up camp at that cliff when I was a Mage so I could show off.

Also the airship glitch where you can jump off the side of the ship while it was in flight and ride on the loading ramp. I've only been able to do that one a handful of times though =\

I believe there's also a rabbit foot that was believed to do the same thing. On the same note. Millionaire's Desk was once believed to have the same effect and for a time was even listed on this website in their database has having TH+1.(Maybe marked as only a possibility but it was there.)

Huh. With the TH messages in the log, we can actually test Millionaire's Desk now. I wonder if anyone has done that?

Well, during an interview/question round SE at one point confirmed that there are no items in the game that give the user an increased "hidden" Treasure Hunter effect unless it is explicitly stated so on the item itself. Then again, we all know what vague and lying bastards they are, so there's really nothing hurt by trying.

On that same note, i always wondered if there's anything that can lower droprates, for instance active quests or items in posession, since i feel i have the worst luck ever when it comes to this game. Always seem to take 10 times longer for something to drop for me. Personally went 1/150+ on TH6/7 blue proc brew'd Shinryu's before i even saw a body drop from there. Jokingly told everyone that the Mithra goddess of Luck and Droprates doesnt like me because i never bothered to get the mithra repelling rafflesia scent off me from the Opo-Opo Crown Quest, but maybe there actually is something to it. Well, not so much the rafflesia scent, but other active quests, items or unfinished progress in things?

Well, if you do that one Jeuno quest and get your fortune read, they will tell you your "lucky color." Mine is blue. I always wondered if that gave you a +1 to your hidden "luck" stat and helped you roll higher numbers or something.

(I loved that in FFX the Luck stat was quite plainly visible on your character's sphere grid.)

They stated in Anaheim that there is no "Luck" stat.

Very cute!! My youngest just turned 8 months, funny thing is is that I started back up with FFXI a few months before my wife got pregnant with her. And my oldest was born 15 months after I started playing FFXI in '06 lol. Anyone who says a gamer is without, on the family front?! Doesn't know much. :P

Really?! I've seen all 3 of those, lol. I've only seen the VD's and KH's ones once or twice, but the airship one????? Dude, when I first started there was a kid that played on PC that would do it every single time he/she was on the airship(for those that are nOObs?<post '08> airships were alot of ppl's primary transportation way back when, for the most part). I watched him/her everytime I could catch them on the ship,.....one second they were there, the next they were floating on the ship to Kahzam, lol.

F**k me I miss those days. ; ;

Noble Mold is another interesting NM. People have thought they've figured it out for years, but there's evidence that conflicts just about anything. Is it correlated to the seasons? Probably. What else? Nobody really knows. It just takes way too much time to get it to spawn once, yet alone enough to properly test all of the variables.

I'll give it up, what I found out, after months of researching..This info last time I checked was still not on ffxi wiki or here.

In 'May' or 'June' (months 5 & 6) of the vanadiel calender, Sanctuary of Zitah gets a rainy/monsoon season. It starts in the middle of the month of May, and extends halfway into June. During this time period, double rain occurs 1-3 times a day; this 'season' lasts for for about 3-4 vanadiel weeks.

Noble Mold will spawn in the very beginning of that season, usually the 2-4th day into it, this is only if its placeholder has been up for 24hours. After its defeated, it will spawn every 24hours** during this 'season'. This translates to about 3-4 possible spawns during this 'season'. When the season is over, it will not spawn until the next such 'season' next year!

If you read about the term 'noble mold' it is a special type of mold that appears on wine grapes only under very certain weather conditions, and makes the finest wine, this somewhat coincides what I have found.

Anyone interested about this, or that wants to hop in the mystery machine to solve other mysteries, I'm Bligh on Ragnarok.

** - Not sure if the spawn time is 20/21-24hours or just straight 24hrs, dont feel like checking my notes right now.

Spot on with the dates , However it's not on a 24 hour timer I fought him twice in one RL day went 1/2 on hat. Returned later the next day and got the wife a hat as well 1/1.

Also let us not forget the old MH job switch glitch where we could remove our subjob.

Also my Moogle still shows up in Port Jeuno occasionally until I click on it.

I was able to actually use that Moogle once; I could put stuff in and take stuff out of my safe, but when I tried to change jobs, it disappeared instead of applying the change.
