This is a 10-man Raid Rift Event, opened by use of a Lure: Hunger of the Deep.

Phase 1

Mobs

Adds Spawned

  • Kitarem Tideshaper: Stormcaller adds, melee must not stand in AoE.
  • Health: 88,720

  • Kitarem Brawler
  • Health: 88,720

Phase Boss

  • Kitar'arem
  • Health: 354,880
  • Abilities:
    • Effervesence: Casts on himself, is a pillar of water. Greatly increases health, mana, power, and energy regeneration. Can be pulled out of it to prevent healing.
    • Barnacle Chitin: 20% reduced damage taken.

Strategy

Tank one pack of adds at a time. Kill Kitar'arem last. Pull Kitar'arem out of Effervesence when he casts it and have the raid stack in it for free energy.

Phase 2

Mobs

Adds Spawned

  • Steelscale Bladetosser
  • Health: 88,720

  • Steelscale Shieldbearer
  • Heath: 88,720

  • Bonecruncher Crocodile
  • Health: 88,720

Phase Boss

  • Gharel
  • Health: 354,800
  • Abilities:
    • Axe Throw: Throws his axe at a random raid member.

Strategy

Kill packs of adds one at a time. Tank and spank Gharel.

Phase 3

Mobs

Adds Spawned

  • Vaalusk Stormreaver
  • Health: 177,440

  • Vaalusk Minion
  • Health: 88,720

Phase Boss

  • Phorthos
  • Health: 354,886
  • Abilities:
    • Casts some lightning spell on random raid members when aggroed.

Strategy

Kill packs of adds 1 at a time. Tank and spank Phorthos.

Phase 4

Mobs

Adds Spawned (all adds have their same abilities as the first 3 phases)

  • Arisen Kitar'arem:
  • Health: 457,795

  • Arisen Phorthos:
  • Health: 352,661

  • Arisen Gharel:
  • Health: 423,194

Phase Boss

  • Garalachul:
  • Health: 2,661,600
  • Abilities:
    • Tail Whip: 5 second cast time. 1-shots anyone in melee range of him. Tank must run out.

Strategy

Hardest phase by far. One tank will pick up Garalachul and pull him away from the group. The other tank will pickup Kitar'arem. All DPS will focus Kitar'arem and burn him as fast as possible. They will then switch to the next miniboss. Whenever one dies, Garalachul loses 30% of his health.

Once the three minibosses are killed, DPS will kill Garalachul.

Phase 5

Mobs

Adds Spawned

  • Tidal Foci
  • Health: 177,440
  • Also spawns a crocodile, a caster add, a melee add, and some turtles.

Strategy

Kill adds, one group at a time.

Phase 6

Mobs

Phase Boss

  • Tideweaver Arkryon
  • Health: 1,330,800
  • Abilties:
    • Downpour: 2 second cast time (becomes faster as the fight goes on). Everyone in the area gets a bubble around them. Anyone standing in their bubble takes ticks of damage depending on how close they are to the center of the bubble. Damage can be as high as 2k a tick.
    • Mark of Arkryon: Targets on member of the raid who gets a huge reticule at their feet. They must get within melee range of Arkryon or they will be 1-shot.
    • Tidal Instability: Grows large and starts randomly using “Water Stream” on raid members.
    • Water Jet: Channeled on a random raid member. Does about 800 damage a tick and is healable.
    • Rising Tide: Decreases the cast time on downpour by 25% per stack.

Strategy

The tank will pickup Arkryon and tank him in the center. When he casts Downpour, melee DPS will spread out from the tank. When he casts Mark of Arkryon, the target will run to the center and stand on Arkryon. This fight is fairly straightforward, and essentially a tank and spank as long as raid members spread out for Downpour.

Comments and Suggestions

Tank Damage: Can be quite high on certain stages. Namely phase 4.

Raid Damage: Moderately low until phase 6. Can be high if melee stands in hurricane on phase 3.

Suggested Raid Comp:

  • 1 Tank (2 Tanks needed in phase 4)
  • 3 Healers
  • 1 Support
  • 4-5 DPS
