EQ Mob:a froglok ton shaman

A favourite for tailors, brown bears have a small chance of shedding a high quality bear pelt when killed. They, like all bears, tend to be agressive to all but druids and rangers; and very social to boot.

Typically they are about level 3 to 5, but some rumours persist that they can /consider higher depending on their locale.

The bear in Ak'Anon is found in the Zoo.There are tigers in the village area of Kerra Isle. There is also a tiger in the zoo in Ak'Anon, which is level 9.

Decaying Skeletons are standard newbie fodder, EXCEPT for the ones in the Steamfont mountains. In all other locales, these undead are level 1 with less than 20 HP, while in Steamfont they are about level 9 or 10.

They are good loot for newbies, carrying many rusty weapons. They also drop bone chips, which are of course required by Necromancers and Shadowknights for their Pets. The bone chips are also an excellent source of extra XP for people whose starting towns offer quests for them.

The following cities offer Quests in return for bone chips: Qeynos, Erudin, Felwithe, Grobb and Kaladim.

Giant Rats seem to leave large parts of themselves when killed. They are excellent hunting for the level 4 to 6 player, providing good loot and xp. Rats are non-agressive, and will not attack on sight.

Plague Rats cast a nasty Disease based DOT, which will prevent an affected person from regenerating. The dot does not last as long as the Mummy equivalent, but is still annoying if you have no Druid, Shaman or Cleric around.

The plague rats in Befallen are level 4 to 6, while in Blackburrow and Freeport, tend to be around 14th or 15th level.

Skeletons are a very common creature, found throughout Norrath. About 90% of Skeletons are level 4 to 8, but the ones in Steamfont and Lake Rathe can be much higher level (/consider carefully before engaging).

Skeletons are always agressive, no matter their level or yours, a level 4 skeleton will still attack a level 50 player.

Skeletons (and all undead) can see through most Illusions, and the regular invisiblity. Invisibility to Undead is the only thing to make them ignore you.

Their drop of bone chips aree highly sought after by Necromancers and by some quest NPCs.

The least of the necromancers in Befallen, these Necros are killed easily because they tend to lack HP and melee skills. They tend to come with a level 1 or 2 pet.

Found with Necro Neophytes.

These Skeletons can be found in South Karana as well as Befallen. In south karana they tend to be higher level than in Befallan.

The factions listed are the ones for the skeletons in the Karanas.

Zombies are found throughout Norrath. No matter the level difference they will always attack, which can make them quite a nuscense.

Zombies come in both male and female versions.

Innothule zombies are signifcantly lower in level than their counterparts elsewhere.

Large Skeletons are found throughout the entrance area of Najena. They are slightly larger than Skeletons.

Found with Necro apprentices

Good xp for the level 12 to 14 cleric, and a staple of the second floor of befallen.

these Necromancers have access to all the Necromancer spells upto level 8. Like all necromancers their DOT spells can be particularily nasty.

They tend to be accompanied by a pet.

Wisps require magic weapons to be hit. Wisps are non-aggressive, however they are extremely sociable.

The three variants of lightstones that they carry are excellent lightsources for humans and the other blind races.

Assassination adventure target.

Ice bone skeletons are slightly easier than their fire based counterparts (the dry bone skeleton) They hit hard, but their strongest attack comes from their cold based spell attack.

They do not have a tonne of HP.

Ghouls are a staple undead throughout Norrath. They have an innate ability to root, which can make running from them futile. Ghouls require magic weapons to be hit.

These necromancers hae access to the same spells a player would at their level, making them worthy opponents. To add to their difficulty, unlike many other creatures in Befallen, they are not undead, so the Cleric like of nuke undead will not work on them.

They are typically found on the second and third floors of befallen, with a pet.

Skeleton LLrod is found on the first floor of befallen, he is not agressive to Dark races atleast. The takes a minor role in the quest for the Thex Mallet.

Many clerics have attributed the levels of 10 to 14 to Llrod.

Thse are the nastiest Non-named Necromancers in Befallen. they carry the full arsenal of Necro Spells, making them formidably enemies. Also, they tend to melee much better than a player of the same level.

The Elf skeleton is found behind the door which is the entrance to the 3rd level of Befallen. He's a rather nasty fellow for his level, and is one of the few skeletons who will run when low on HP.

Found with Evil Eyes in the gorge and in east Karana.

Evil Eyes are found throughout norrath. The ones in East Karana and Beholders are Enchanters, and are found with pets. They can also charm, so be careful when fighting them.

The Evil Eyes in Runnyeye are Wizards, which replaces the nasty charm with really nasty DD spells. Again dangerous.

There is one Evil Eye found in Lower Guk, on the Live Side. This eye drops the Bag of Sewn Evil Eye, and he's a fairly regular spawn. The Eye in Lower Guk is level 30ish

Lord Syrkl is an Evil Eye, and he is an enchanter. The Eyes in Beholders have the ability to charm, which can quickly turn an easy fight into a hard one.

Along with the regular Eyes, Both of the Lords (Syrkl and Svyr) also drop optic nerves which are used as part of the crafted bracer quest for Warriors. The Polished Bone Bracers are highly sought after by mid-range casters.

Enchanter

Appears in Beholder's Maze during anniversary events.

Warrior

Gnolls are another of Norrath's common monsters. Their main stronghold these days is in Blackburrow, although they can be found in other areas as well.

They vary widely in level so be sure to consider them carefully before engaging them.

Warrior

Be warned, killing this fellow results in significant faction hits.

The Elite Gnoll guards are found throughout the lower parts of Blackburrow. They have excellent loot for their level.

The standard newbie fare snake, these are found throughout Norrath. They do not cast posion and have less than about 20 hp. They are not agressive, and do not socialize, making they and their relatives excellent hunting for the lower levels.

Pic by: Lias Roxx

These Krags are known for messing up the Statue of the King found over the enterance to Kaladim. Return their parts to the Paladins guild for a nice reward of experience and money.

Dwarf skeletons are excellent hunting for a lower level character. They are non-agressive and do not attack on sight. I suppose dead dwarves are just more relaxed than dead humans.

This bandit is an easy hunt for people 7th level and onward. He can be found running near the Druid Rings.

The goblins in Butherblock and Runnyeye are levels 6 to 9ish, while in Najena they can be of higher levels.

These birds are a bane of the Paladin's guild in Kaladim. Returning their feet as proof of kill makes for an excellent source of supplimentary experience.

She is found at the docks in Butcherblock.

Located near the docks in the Butcherblock Mountains.

This is an exiled Paladin of Underfoot. His Cape of Underfoot has been stripped from his possesion by the guild after failing to complete a task of utmost importance for the Guild.

She is the Druidic Vendor located at the Druid ring in Butcherblock.

This dwarven hero is found at the cross roads, protecting young Dwarves and travellers.

This is one of the 4 npcs at the NPC camp. which is to your right as you leave the canyon and travels a short bit. These four npcs work together and call themselves the Fabulous Four. They will kill any monster that wanders near their camp and chase it until it is dead then wander back. They are aggressive to dark races ( troll, ogre, dark elf ) and also to necromancers of any race, but other 'good' combinations can safely sit down at their camp and rest/med. Hailing these NPC's is humorous. They are benevolent and will offer heal you if you ask the High Elf Paladin. When you ask the Paladin he actually says he has to conserve his mana, but they will escort people from the cauldron apparently. I haven't tried to see how this works, but I assume they walk up to the canyon to Butcher Block as I have seen them up there many times stuck against the canyon walls as they try to get back. I always assumed that people trained them up there but maybe they were escorted.

This particular guy is the Wood Elf ranger.

The Avatar of Fear is a mini-Cazic thule, and the gods avatar on the material plane.

The Avatar of Fear is a shadowknight, with a fairly nasty harmtouch.

He can be found via the back temple, which is guarded by silvered guards.

The lowest of the bears, black bears are excellent hunting for the socially minded young player, since the High quality pelts that they drop on VERY RARE occasion are often sold to higher level players for a fair sum.

Mojax is a great lover of Milk..

Pumas tend to be found in the sandy parts of their habitats.

The plains cat is excellent hunting for level 9 to 10 players who are in the area looking for wisps.

These snakes are very common throughout the areas they are found in. They have a chance of dropping Giant Snake Fangs. They are excellent hunting if you can cure posion, otherwise their posion attack can ravage your health even after they're long dead.

The Crushbone Orcs are found throughout the Faydark area.

Their level varries widely, so consider them carefully before engaging.

Shaman

Orc Oracles vary widely in level from place to place, it is wise to /consider them carefully before engaging them in combat.

Ahhh, the dervish cutthroats. Found in many zones, they are oft hunted for their excellent loot to level ratio.

Dervish Cutthroats can be casters, monks, and warriors. They tend to hit pretty hard for their level.

Young Kodiaks are an excellent stepping stone from "newbie hunting" to beginning to take down some of the monsters that have plagued your lower level hunting. YK's are not typically agressive to Druids and rangers, although there are exceptions.

They are very social and will come to the aid of other bears in their area.

This NPC entry was for the West Commonlands willowisp.

See a willowisp for the current Commonlands willowisp.

The shadowmen come in the classes of Warrior, Monk, Cleric and Necromancer. The Necromancers tend to look like books, while the Priests have the appearance of Snow cones. The Warriors tend to show their weapons, while the monks are invisible (save for their name).

Shadowmen hang out at fixed locations, usually in groups from four to seven. They do not have a huge aggro raduis, but are social so Harmony can be very handy in fighting them.

Shadowmen move very very quickly. If you're trying to run from them, you will need a highlevel bard with a magical drum to be able to escape them, they can outrun all forms of SOW.

Shadowmen drop numerous items for numerous quests. So many items are dropped that it can be a maddening experience trying to get the one you need. It has been theorized that the shadowmen in different zones are more likely to drop the various items.

Most of the items they drop are "no rent" meaning they will dissapear if you log out.

This guard is found at the toll booth in the Commonlands.

This ranger can, at times be found near the druid ring.

The rangers at the druid ring are excellent hunting at around level 30 to 40, as they spawn every 6 minutes, and have rather nice loot.

This dragoon, like all dragoons is very resistant to magic. He is the bane of light races hunting in the Commonlands, as he attacks very quickly and usually witout warning.

It has been speculated that the death of Kizdean Gix causes this Dragoon to appear..

Shadow is a ranger found at the druid ring in the Commonlands. Dark races beware! He hits quite hard for his level.

This corrupt freeport guard can be found at the toll booth in the Commonlands.

Timtok and his brother will resize crafted armour for you.

Hill Giants are perhaps the most common Giant found in Norrath. Found all over Antonica, they tend to be rather difficult for their level, hitting for much damage and having many many HP.

Their toes are considered a culinary delight by some, and the rest of their loot makes them excellent hunting for money.

The nightfall giant spawns at dusk, near the druid ring in West Commons. He looks just like a Hill Giant with the exception of the name.

The Orc Slavers are responsible for the reprehencible treatment of their prisioners.

The trainer is found ontop of the first hill in crushbone.

Orc Emissaries can be found around the castle area of Crushbone.

These guards are found inside the castle, near the throne room.

The Emissary of the Dark Elves does a fair deal more damage than his level would indicate.

The druid's animal only line of spells works against these creatures.

Shaman

These come in the form of halflings, half elves, humans, males and females.

His name makes me really wonder about his character.

The newbie wolves, which give ample experience upto level 5. They are excellent hunting for the young player making their own tailored armour, since they drop ruined skins often.

The Millers in Qeynos Hills have a use for their pelts as well.

Newbie fare snake, the Moss snakes are often used as an excellent source of xp for the young player. While their little fangs sell for almost nothing (1 to 2 cp) they can be used in some quests to help with extra xp through questing.

Their eggs count as food, making them an excellent money saver to hold onto for later.

These (and all level 1) snakes do not posion you.

The spiderlings are the non-posionous version of the spiders. They are non-agressive, but the are EXTREMELY social, and will join in if you're fighting one anywhere near them. While they can be excellent xp for the younger player, they do come in a variety of level ranges.

It is very important for the newer player to /consider the spiders closely to ensure they're of a reasonable level before taking them on.

Warrior

This merchant is a favorite for spell casters, since she sells most of the regents in unlimited quantities. She is located near the border to West Commons.

She does not kill dark races on sight, nor will she sell to them unless your faction has been raised. I believe her primary faction is "Commons Residents".

Ranger

This ranger is found in both east and west commons.

This ranger is found at either the druid rings in West commons or the Ranger pillair in East commons. He and his ilk are excellent hunting for dark races.

Spectres hit for a maximum of 96, and tend to attack rather quickly. They move somewhat slowly, and can be outrun even without speed-enhancing spells.

The Priest is not an easy kill. He is a cleric who hits for 300+ per round in melee, nukes for well into the 100s and Complete Heals himself. To boot his magic resist is quite high.

This skeleton is found only with the Ghoul Lord.

The shin knights are the highest level non-named Frogs in Upper Guk. They are found near the back of the Dungeon, usually near the enterance to Lower Guk.

One group of 5 of these exists just before the undead tower in Lower Guk

The cavalier is a Shadowknight, the carrier of the Dark Reaver. He is found in the Dead tower.

The huge water elemental is... well... rather small. This particular elemental seems to have been placed in Lower Guk so as to stop explorers who might by trying to waltz into the king room with good faction. He attacks everything on sight (except Frogoks).

If you fight the Elemental, the nearby frogloks will come to his aid.

Found in the same room as the Frenzied Ghouls, these are only slightly weaker.

The hand in Unrest is only about level 25 or so.

In Unrest the hand carries one of a number of books.

The Lord of the Undead Ghouls is usually found with 2 Bok Guards. This Shadowknight is very tough. Maximum damage is 125 (usually twice).

He is often Camped for his valuable loot.

These fellows have been rumoured to spawn near the King's throne in Lower Guk

The Sentries are excellent hunting for soloists in Upper guk below level 10. They have a reasonable chance of dropping woven armour, and do not tend to hit very hard.

These frogs are shamen, found near the enterance of Upper Guk

The froglok Necromancer is the only Necromancer in Guk. He comes with a pet and is guarded by a couple of sentinals. He is rumoured to drop a vial of eggwhites.

Froglok Novices are Shamen.

These frogs are slightly below guards in difficulty.

Found throughout Upper Guk, mostly near water, these crocodiles provide little loot, but good xp.

Froglok Guards are the highest of the simply described frogloks. They are found guarding the enterance of Guk, and also found deeper inside it. The frogs in Guk have a chance of dropping the woven armour.

These prisoners are found near the froglok warden.
