Second Main Profession Advice :: World of Warcraft

Way back when I dropped Engineering around 400+ for armorsmithing hoping that it would give me a little more satasfaction. Recently while farming eternals for the gazillionth time for my 4 80's I started thinking of how much faster it was to farm them with the mote extracer. My pally still has the extracter in his bags, and is currently 450 mining/425bs.
In your opinion should I drop the mining for engineering since I have another maxed miner, or the bs? Thanks in advance for your input.

I think you answered your own question. If you can drop mining and still have the profession available since it is maxed on another character, why not do so and level Engineering? Unless there is some tangible benefit to having mining on that particular toon, or you think BS is not practical and really want to drop it altogether.

Engineering is a bit of an **** to level, but of my 3 'mains' I've been levelling since I started playing, it's the engineer I love the most. He mines (and smelts), which helps. BS on one of my other mains has been more or less useless. But the mote extractor, Jeeves, two new pets to sell, rocket boots for pushing for the last rep for Justicar in wsg, haste on gloves, para cloak for AB lm->bs/bs->gm (+stealth, snatch a base) etc...priceless.

The extra gem sockets make BS one of the best professions from a min/max stand point.

Granted for cool factor yes BS isn't as good as engineering and other profs with generate more income.

But from a min/max prospective BS/JC is the best for all most all specs.
