JC uber gem procsFollow

#1 Feb 04 2010 at 9:54 AM Rating: Decent
I remember when I first started the xpac JC there was a chance with each cut to get an uber version of the gem you were cutting that was around 20% better stats. While I haven't been cutting masses of gems like I was while skilling up, I've still cut a good number thanks to gear upgrades on three level 80s plus the cuts I regularly do for guildies and I haven't had that power kick in forever.

Did Blizz remove it from the game, is it broken/nerfed or does it only apply when cutting green gems?

Considering I've never once seen while inspecting people, scanning the AH, nor making gems of blue or epic quality, I've sufficiently deduced since 3.0 that perfect cuts are for green quality only.

I've never gotten a Blue superior quality gem. I reasonably sure it is green only.

Which, yes, makes it useless. Since no one buys green gems (barely even when leveling), and you aren't going to get much more from the higher stat one than the regular.

Bummer!

Ah well, I made a few gold with it back when JC first came out and greens were still being used.

if you've got an abundance of green quality gems and you dont turn them into necklaces for enchanting mats (which the price has dropped significantly) you can cut them and sell them, perfects sell for more.

Plus perfects are great for alts in BC content when sockets become available.

I've made a few recently and sold them for a ridiculous amount of gold. Like 30g more than a regular cut, I have no idea why anyone would spend that much for them when they aren't even blue though.
