I understand that the new Leatherworking drums are shiny and pretty. I love them too!

But you look pretty silly when you use Drums of the Wild, especially when you have the talent for Improved Mark of the Wild.

Kisses,

Your Friendly Neighborhood Leatherworker

So...yeah. There's this balance druid in my guild. He's not the brightest bulb in the bunch, apparently, and has been pulling my drums out of the gbank to use. Please tell me he's the only one who pulls stupid **** like this, please?

Smiley: disappointed

Heh. My healadin has been known to drum up Blessing of Forgotten Kings in 5-mans, when we had no shamans or warriors to cover Might and Wisdom.

Never thought of doing it instead of Real Kings (tm), since it isn't cheaper per-use than the reagents, and I never run out of symbols anyway.

Not to imply that there's any excuse for the situation you describe...

I take it the drums are a substitute for GotW? I've never used them, so I wouldn't know.

Ya, a watered down version. The drums typically offer roughly 80% of the benefit of the same-purpose spell from the class that provides it. (ie. Blessing of the Forgotten Kings gives +8% stats, compared to the 10% boost from the real deal). The drums are expensive to make and are one use only. Not sure what Blizzard was thinking with that one. Unless they're fully planning on kicking our asses with Frozen Halls, I can't see anyone truly enthusiastic about wasting those kinds of mats for buffs that most groups currently function just fine without if nobody of the class who normally provides said buffs is present. Maybe for 10-man raids? I dunno. Doesn't quite make sense to me, but to each their own.

They're actually 50 charges--they're a bit wonky when linked, that might be why you're confused. ;) It's still a lot of mats, though, I looked them up on the AH and the Druid drum mats are about 80g total on my server.

The Kings one is 8%, but I believe the Druid one is equal to the non-improved buff.

I've been using them a fair amount in 10-mans (like when we were trying for OS-3D with only one pally), and also in 5-man achievement runs when we could use a little boost. They're definitely handy, just not if you already have a class covering the buff. Like, for example, if one is a Druid. >.<

The drums are definately good to fill a buff you may be missing, perhaps until bright bulb learns what he has at his disposal your personal bank might be a better storage space for the drums.

Either that or point him to the Druid forums forums here --------->

They're just off the trainer, 450 LW required to learn.

I've seen the Kings drums up for 50g or so but not any Druid drums, not sure how well they sell though.

According to Wowhead, the market price goes from 125g on the Forgotten Kings to 44g for the Wild drums.

If the mats are 80g, I recommend not selling them. Smiley: tongue

Absolutely.

He actually gave them back after the guild leader got on his case about it...they were back in the guild bank, with 30 charges left each. >.<

LOL, I only made the Kings one with my druid, but I did send my brother the MoW one as he's a warrior and we can't always group.
