well after a long time without playing a warrior, about a year, i feel the urge to make another. so i have started my human warrior, and i am really having trouble deciding on professions. I could go Min/JC, but does JC make that much money and how does it compare for warriors to others? Same with Min/BS or even alch/herb/inscription.

please any feedback would be greatly appreciated. =]

I guess what you pick depends on what your other characters have already and in truth it makes little difference in the long run.

Mining/jc. will give you a decent stamina stats boost and of course the statuette heals which for a warrior will be useful and even as you level you will if picking the right time to sell can make decent gold but that depends if people dump stuff on the AH which quite often happens on my servers , at end game now there is not as much gold as there used to be as many others will be competing with you but is still viable.

Mining/bs is a pretty standard thing for warriors and of course its that stamina boost again and some nice gear as you level but i am not fully sure if the BS does have enough items to sell for good profit as many others will be trying to sell their stuff as well.

Herbs gives you a free heal and allied with alchemy will save you and give decent stat boosts as you level and some stuff can sell well but at end game it all depends on how many are trying to sell their stuff as there will be strong competition .

Herbs/inscription can be good but the prices are slowly dropping to the point where the herbs are worth more than what the inscriptions will get and at the moment on my servers it is the minor inscriptions and a few rare ones making the real gold .

Above all other choices the real gold making is not really creative trades but the gathering ones and the only exception i see is enchanting but not for the enchanting part as i know for sure the disenchanting does make a very nice profit as everything one of my alts gets that is soulbound makes me a steady profit and i use that alt also as my bank alt so she gets loads of items to disenchant if items do not sell so if you have not got an enchanter it may be worth getting one as you can create cheap easily made greens and disenchant them for a profit.

You should not expect any great profits from trades as it is always the gathering from what i can see that most use to make their profits and once you hit 80 probably easier to charge around doing quests for gold while gathering whatever you can find along the way.

I am sure many will say they can make very good profits from their creative trade and i can agree there will always be some items and trades in demand and on my alts i do have creative trades but never for the profit as for me it is what items i can make either for my guild or my alts that interests me.

This is just my view on making gold and i hope it helps you decide which way to go , i will always pick two gathering trades if i want an alt to make gold but the creative trades are fun to learn but just do not expect to make as much gold as you can by gathering.

I keep hearing that JC+BS is the best raiding combo for any class thanks to extra sockets and better gems, that kinda depends on having a miner alt though, and it's about the personal benefit rather than moneymaking.

My Warrior has Engineering/Tailoring because I want access to the profession-specific crafted mounts, but I have a wonderful husband who farms and smelts ore for me--it's definitely not a good combination for everyone. Smiley: lol

thanks for the replies. my warrior will be leveling alone on the server without any financial help, i would absolutely love to go JC/bs, but ill keep dreaming on that one. So i really guess it comes down the big two, JC/min or alch/herb. HerbAlch doesnt seem a bad choice, but does crafting the epic gems and longer flasks out weigh cutting your own gems, with EPIC gems of your own, and 2 great starter tanking trinkets? BS i just remembered is lame, i wont be going into ToC for a few months on him anyways, so wheres the rewards?

If your warrior is on a new server with no higher characters on it, I would suggest no crafting prof's and get gathering ones, mining and herbalism or maybe skinning.

I started a guy on a fresh server and did just as I suggested and made plenty of gold without going out of my way to grind profession lvl's. Crafting professions are money sinks and I think that money is best saved for mounts as you level and artisan riding. After you get those, drop a gathering prof and pickup a crafting one.

I'll just add that if you do not have an alt mining you'll find this a complete pain in the *****
