As the TT already states: does anyone know a good guide to powerlevel my cooking? My fishing is at 450 so that would help I guess.

I have found a few guides, but most of them are old and do not include WoTLK.

I found one here at Alla, but it does not work (anymore) WOW Guide Zoldaman's Cooking Guide

As you already got your fishing maxed, this may be easier. I use El's Extreme Anglin' Guide for leveling fishing and cooking together. I haven't tested it out myself, but I've referenced it quite a few times.

I started with this, but the fishing got on my nerves, catching like 80 fish in a row again...

Maybe if someone knows another guide, I can combine the two for some variety.

Start with doing the cooking daily as many times as possible and as early as possible. You'll need the tokens for recipes and the spices to make food.

Use the above guides to find out what fish to buy to powerlevel cooking and check the AH. Some of them will be quite cheap, although most of the time you can only find already cooked fish.(from my own experience)

Find some other cooking guides that don't follow the fishing path. You'll find out such things like making bread from very cheap vendored items.

When I did it, I really wanted to get my fishing up on one toon and cooking on him and two others. I simply fished 3 times what the guide ordered and supplemented what I could from cheap AH meats/fish. It took a while, but at the end it was very rewarding.

I am going to continue with the fishing/cooking guide and in between use the wiki on cooking and also use some recipes which do not require fish.

I have never really bothered with fishing to level my cooking but now i have checked up on it i guess i do use some fish at the important levels as otherwise its either very difficult or very hard to level up.

I tend to farm meat instead to level my cooking and usually start in either azuremyst or silvermoon areas depending on what race i am starting , so its either killing the stags or the lynx until i am able to cook the clam meat , but as many will know i am a farmer anyway and as i usually take up skinning and either herbs or mining it makes better sense for me to work without having to go fishing although i do always level my fishing to keep up with my cooking skills but usually am farming fish to sell like the deviate fish for example.

The first real place i end up fishing to level my cooking is usually Tanaris as its not so easy to get away from cooking fish at that point , then i find when i hit outland its a mixture of meat and fish depending on what recipes i have managed to acquire , but looking at the guides i may well be changing my way of leveling cooking at some points as it looks far easier .

I found another guide which I will use now.

The other one I used still mentionted the fact that you had to buy a book to train (which I wanted to do, but the NPC did not have a book, you do not need that anymore!). It is a bit low on details, but it will do.

And maybe there are some other changes since the latest patches.
