Sat in Org for about 6 hours tonight, got ganked only once while there (twice on way).

Don't know if the bug is still there but apparently when doing the Croc in the Sewers fishing daily you had a significantly higher chance of catching him.

I know that the Outland fishing daily "Crocolisk in the city" increases the chance to catch him.
I'm not sure if they changed it, but it worked for me a few monthes ago. Caught him on my second cast.

IIRC they have fixed the Crocs in the City bug, and also you can no longer get Old Crafty (or, I assume, the Fishing Diplomat) or the Ragefire Chasm achievements by doing them in the phased Orgrimmar during the Wrathgate questline.

This is correct. No longer do either quests aid/allow it.

Just an FYI, it took me over 1k catches to get crafty.

I caught him on my 1998th cast. I kinda wish it had taken me two more.
After the 250ish fishing levels it took me to get Ironjaw I'm kinda scared of going after Crafty 
Almost 2k catches. That is horrifying. Least my server will not have trouble leveling cooking a little since I give it all to people I come across lol.

In theory you can also catch The One Ring in Org (although I've only caught it in TB) since it spawns in all newby zones.
Ironically enough, my Old Crafty catches were all accidental catches without the bug - just toons leveling fishing while waiting for a BG.
