Hello all. Quick question. What do you spend you JC tokens on? I have about 14 or so saved up. I don't really want to spend them on Dragon eyes right now, so I am wondering what gem cut or jewelry is a good money maker for you? I see about 4 or 5 people a week selling the Titanium stuff, but they only go for about 900-1000gold, so I can't see them making too much profit off of them since they sell slowly. What do you guys/gals do with your tokens?

First I bought stuff for me. JC only gems, epic designs that I can use and couple rare designs that I socket myself often. After that I started to colect every rare gem design, since it's my primary source of income. I should be done with that by the end of the week:) After that I'm getting all meta designs.

With so many JC out there I find it hard to sell some gems. that's why I am getting all designs. To check which cut sells for highest at the time I am putting it on AH.

If you've got an alchemy alt that can make the raw meta gems then obviously the thing to do is get the meta recipes - money isn't spectacular, but I'm skilling off of making the metas with my alch and skilling off of cutting them with the JC, so I figure the fact that I'm getting two skill ups in 430+ skill and not losing money to boot makes it worth it.

Personally, now that the Dragon's Eye market has dried up, after I knocked out all of the meta gems, I've been working my way through the useful cuts - +STR, AGI, STA, etc - basically, the common popular and useful ones. I'm not trying to make money off of them though, just want to have them for personal/friend/guild usage.

look on the AH for which cuts sell for the most, buy those cuts, cut, then profit.

I have most of the patterns that I would want so I am buying dragonseyes before the prices bottom out (sell for around 125g on my server right now).

Thanks for the replies. I play on the Korean server, and the dragon's eye's are down to about 140-150'ish so I didn't want to spend them on those, especially since a lot of the designs take 6 tokens a pop. Just seeing what is always in style as far as cuts go. I do have my shammy alchemist, although he is only level 53 and at 375 alchemy, so I guess I might have to look at getting him up some levels to cut gems. That sounds like a good idea.

I wouldn't recommend getting all of the ring and neck cuts unless you are sure you can charge enough (or get tipped high enough) to make back the money of 6 days of dailies spent on them. I got the spellshock one so that I could make it for guildies etc, but overall the general tip that I get is around 10g if I don't ask for a 25g crafting fee (most refuse to pay more than that for it). So if you think you can make enough money either selling the rings (they sell for around 800-900g on my server now), seeing how they will become out-dated pretty soon if we don't get more recipes come 3.1 I think that it will be difficult to get more sales with that, as most people who would spend that money on a ring would most likely have already done it.

That is just my Smiley: twocents though.

To be honest, since I'm a latecomer to WOTLK, I'm just getting Dragon's Eyes and selling them. Even for 150g, it's a pretty good return on time, and that 150g buys a lot of materials for my other crafters, who are all skilling up as well. Once I'm getting close to a point where I can USE the new cuts, or the JC-only ones, I'll switch to getting recipes.

Heres a tip....a big seller for me is the titanium impact choker. I have 2 jc's which means 4 dragon's eyes every 2 days. so every 2 days i make one...then i make a bright scarlet ruby (+24 AP) and socket the piece. I make sure to advertise in trade that mine comes pre-socketed with the best AP gem on the market, and it seems to work. Sells for 1200-1300 gold...not a bad income every 2 days. I usually have to buy the eternal fires on AH tho...costs about 80-100 gold per 6. But the rest I get from my 450 mining and saving my orbs from my twice-a-week heroics marathons...where I usually net about 4-5 orbs a week from the bosses. I also got the recipe for the tanking neckpiece...doesn't sell worth a crap, just a waste of 6 tokens. I haven't bought any of the other epics as the one im selling every 2 days is enough income for me. Of course both my jc's got the appropriate jc only gems first...that should be first priority for any JC.

Of course this is my server, you have your's. Different server=different market.

I suggest you hold on to a few tokens as rumors are that Patch 3.1 will dish out a few new JC recipes. They will probably dropped by the new bosses, but some may be sold in Dalaran.

Personally I keep going after normal gem cuts. I prospect lots of ore from the AH and I feel I can never have enough normal gem cuts.

Has anyone heard how the ulduar gems are going to work for sure?

From what I can make of it, it'll be either one of two ways.

You're allowed ONE stormjewel or one of each type of stormjewel.

If either is the case blue quality gems are still going to keep selling like nobodies business.

I would spend the tokens on the red gem recipes as they sell for the highest gold. Or any dps ones. I would spend the tokens on gem recipes to add to your collection. I missed the boat on the epic craftables so I can't advise you there, but I heard many made boat loads of gold.

But now I have all the meta and rare gem recipes in the game and make over 1000k a day, and overall 200,000k from cutting and selling gems on the AH. Most of the other JC recipes are farmable too through rep, Stone Keeper's Shards, 100% drops of specific mobs, and World Drops.
