I just learned a lvl 66 minor glyph for a priest, Glyph of shadowfiend. It uses ink of the sea as a mat. I cannot find where to obtain this recipe, or learn it. Anyone know of this issue?

Thank You for any help

I think there are a few things in inscription that need some explanation but sorry i have no idea yet on that ink , my puzzle is an ink i have but not found a use for so far 'Hunters ink' ? perhaps we should have a thread on all the odd inscription stuff.

Ink of the sea sounds like it should be stranglekelp derived ? or is there some other water based herb i cannot remember ?

I hope one day we get a single thread explaining the quirks in inscription .

edit as i have just tried stranglekelp again and it does not seem to give any clue to ink of the sea so ?.

Hunters ink is used to make the mystic tome
but it seems that alla doesn't list what the mystic tome is, it is held in the off hand and increases spell power by 8.
Ink of the sea can only be learned as of now from what I can tell off wowiki from

* Booker Kells in Howling Fjord
* Professor Pallin in Dalaran

It's from northrend herbs. I've learned one that requires it too. We are just learning minor glyphs that we don't have access to the mats for yet.

To clarify, ink of the sea does appear to be something we will use after the expansion comes out and we continue leveling our inscription. Hunter's ink is a low level ink made from verdant pigment that is used in making mystic tomes, despite the oddities with the alla pages on the ink and the tomes.

Hunter's ink is made from verdant pigment which can be derived from Mageroyal, Briarthorn, Swiftthistle, Bruiseweed, and Stranglekelp. Verdant pigment is the rarer of the two pigments that can result from milling these herbs.

Ink of the Sea will be made from azure pigment, or so I've heard. It should be milled from northrend herbs; I had previously presumed they would be among the first herbs we encounter in the easier quests there as Ink of the Sea appears to be the first ink to be learned in the expansion.

However I did find one listing of northrend herbs that made it appear that what I was looking at was two inks that will be added in the expansion all from the same herbs, but from the two different pigments that come from those herbs, which follows the Outland model of herbs and pigments. The second ink I've seen mentioned, that would be learned at a higher level than Ink of the Sea will be called Snowfall ink. So now I am guessing that snowfall ink will be made from the less common pigment.

* Adder's Tongue
* Constrictor Grass
* Deadnettle
* Goldclover
* Icethorn
* Lichbloom
* Talandra's Rose
* Tiger Lily

Just to add, you learn glyphs based om your level. If you are at or over 350, you will learn glyphs that call for this ink, which you cannot make. I know that I have at least one so far. Not sure which I am less happy finding, a 350 level minor or anything for Death Knights. It will all work out in the end and minors will be your way to pay for your skill.
