Enchanting overwritesFollow

Folks;

I've seen one version of this question answered, but I'm not sure if it applies to this situation. I'm looking at enchanting for a possible trade skill for a mage. If I choose this, I understand that if I enchant some bracers, then enchant them again, the effect is an overwrite of the enchant (otherwise, we'd have +10000000 hp chest pieces, eh?). However, do they overwrite the existing bonus on an item as well?

Say I pick up a cloak off a mob I killed. It is a +1 int cloak. I think, Great, but it's armor is 2, or something. I want to enchant it to have more armor. Would this overwrite the natural +1 int that the cloak has currently, or would I then have a cloak with more armor that also still retained it's +1 int?

Thanks;

Kt

A new enchant only overwrites a previous enchant.
It doesn't change the natural bonuses of the items.
No worries =).

So, I could take my current +11 int <insert item here> and enchant it for +4 int and have a now +15 int item!

WOAH! W00T!

As long as the +11 INT isn't from a previous enchant, yes.

It will, however, overwrite other item enhancements that have been added. For instance, enchant boots will overwrite mithril spurs, enchant shield will overwrite shield spikes, enchant weapons will overwrite weapon chains and counterweights, and enchant chest will overwrite armor kits.

Do Leatherworking Kits mess with player enchanted items or vice versa?

I believe though that if you try to enchant somthing that will overwrite something on the item it will pop up and ask if your sure you want to overwrite...so dont worry too much about accidently overwriting enchants.

Huh, my version of the game must be glitched, my enchanter has been able to enchant his chain coif with +10 to charisma for like 300 times, and now has a +3000 to charisma on it. But for some reason I can't figure out how to add a +10 to comliness to my mithril fake glasses and mustache that i have sitting in my bank.

Can someone help me with that?

ROFLMAO Fitz!

Sorry, but the only enchant that works on the mustache/glasses item is the +idiocy one, which seems to relate mostly to just how long and straggly the mustache hairs are and how thick the plastic on the rim of the glasses is...

I think your thinking of a different game, there isnt charisma OR comliness - assuming your saying the right thing in english, of course.

Per item, you can only have one added stat from an enchant or other item. Its impossible to have more than one at this time.

Maybe when jewelcrafting comes out we will be more fortunate. :)

I hate to point out the obvious lauisifer, but I was being anything but serious in my last post, as I was hoping that everyone who read it would have easily guessed. Being an @$$tard (as I was so blatently being) is just an unfortunate side effect of being up at bum-chuck thirty in the morning (weather due to work-as in the previous post, or pure stupidity and lack of motivation to acctually go to bed-as in now).

I appologize for my retaded sense of humor (or lack thereof), aswell as any idiotic drivel that spews forth from my gullet in whatever attempt I make at resembling "funny"
